Continuation Bet Works for King

Level 24 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante

Kenny King raised to 80,000 from the button and was called by Lucio Pacifico in the small blind and Laurence Essa in the big blind. The action was checked to King on a flop of {K-Diamonds} {7-Spades} {6-Diamonds} and a continuation bet of 125,000 did the trick for King.

One hand later, Darren Mapley limped from under the gun and Essa called in the small blind before both folded to the all in of short stack Jesus Gracia.

Mister Maximum Pressure

Level 24 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante

In a battle of the blinds, both Lucio Pacifico and Laurence Essa had invested what looked like 180,000 preflop and headed to the flop of {K-Hearts} {5-Spades} {6-Clubs}. Pacifico checked to Essa and then check-raised from 150,000 to 325,000. Essa didn't waste much time before announcing all in and Pacifico was sent into a world of pain. He would eventually fold.

Mapley versus Pacifico

Level 24 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante

Darren Mapley raised to 100,000 and called the three-bet of Lucio Pacifico for 265,000 out of the big blind. After a flop of {4-Hearts} {9-Spades} {A-Diamonds} both players checked and Pacifico then bet 350,000 after the {10-Spades} turn. Mapley didn't go anywhere and slid forward the chips for a call. On the {A-Spades} river, Pacifico gave up the pot and folded to the aggression of his opponent.

Mapley is the new chip leader, as he got slightly more than Laurence Essa.

Rahim Tadj-Saadat Eliminated in 8th Place (£2,980)

Level 24 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante
Rahim Tadj-Saadat - 8th place
Rahim Tadj-Saadat - 8th place

Darren Mapley raised to 100,000 from under the gun and found two callers in Rahim Tadj-Saadat as well as Jesus Gracia in the big blind. On a flop of {7-Diamonds} {2-Spades} {Q-Diamonds}, Gracia checked and Mapley continued for 300,000. Tadj-Saadat now moved all in for 750,000 and the Spaniard quickly folded. Almost as fast was the call of Mapley:

Tadj-Saadat: {A-Diamonds} {3-Diamonds}
Mapley: {A-Clubs} {Q-Clubs}

The {4-Clubs} turn gave Tadj-Saadat additional outs with the straight draw, but ultimately the {3-Hearts} river was a brick and sent him to the rail in 8th place.

Gordon Shoves Twice

Level 24 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante

Christopher Gordon was already all in for 410,000 from the hijack previously but didn't get called. Now he shoved again after Jesus Gracia had opened to 80,000 and the Spaniard mucked his {Q-Spades} {K-Diamonds}.

Michel Melkert Eliminated in 9th Place (£2,250)

Level 24 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante
Michel Melkert - 9th place
Michel Melkert - 9th place

Michel Melkert moved all in for 255,000 and chip leader Laurence Essa isolated from the button to scare off all other opponents.

Melkert: {A-Spades} {9-Clubs}
Essa: {A-Clubs} {K-Hearts}

The {K-Clubs} appeared right in the window to shut down all hopes and the rest of the board ran out {7-Diamonds} {J-Hearts} {Q-Spades} {4-Spades}.
