Hazardous Hazan on the Bubble

Level 19 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante
Jeraint "JJ" Hazan
Jeraint "JJ" Hazan

Francisco Manuel Salvador Flores raised and called the three-bet shove of Jeraint "JJ" Hazan for around 300,000 in chips while the stone cold bubble was in play. All other tables were about to be finished and the WPT photographer did his duty, taking shots of both the Spaniard and Hazan.

"God damn, don't take the pictures now when I am all in against kings. He showed them already! You have enough pictures from before when I was happy," a grumpy Hazan said. When it was time for the showdown, he flipped over the {9-Spades} {8-Diamonds} and Slvador Flores held {K-Hearts} {K-Clubs}.

With the board running out {A-Diamonds} {2-Spades} {8-Hearts} {J-Clubs} {8-Clubs}, Hazan jumped up, ecstatic and then erupted in celebration. "TAKE THE #### PICTURE NOW" he said, impossible to calm down and shortly after started laughing.

Hand for Hand Mode Activated

Level 18 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Zagon Calin was all in and at risk with {A-Spades} {K-Clubs} to see Jeraint Hazan look him up with {K-Hearts} {K-Spades}. The board ran out safely in {4-Clubs} {8-Hearts} {5-Spades} {Q-Spades} {Q-Diamonds} and the field was reduced to 46 players. Hand for hand mode started shortly after.

Berzins Crippled Against Essa

Level 18 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Just prior to the bubble, Peteris Berzins lost a massive pot against Laurence Essa after flopping top two pair in a three-way pot and Essa got his stack in with {Q-Spades} {J-Spades} for the open ended straight and flush draw. Essa would find a spade to double up and Berzins was left very short stacked.

He called a shove with {A-Hearts} {Q-Diamonds} out of the big blind and survived against {A-Clubs} {4-Clubs} on a board of {10-Hearts} {8-Diamonds} {Q-Spades} {K-Diamonds} {K-Hearts}.

Stuart Hulston

Down to his last four big blinds, Stuart Hulston moved all in from the small blind with {A-Clubs} {4-Clubs}. The player in the big blind called with {K-Clubs} {5-Clubs} and immediately found two kings on the flop to shut down all hopes.

Cimbolas With a Flush Draw

Level 18 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

With 80,000 chips in the pot on a turn of {2-Diamonds} {4-Hearts} {9-Clubs} {6-Spades}, Matas Cimbolas moved all in for 140,000. His opponent tanked for a long time and the usual Cimbolas talk show started. "If you show, I show also" the Lithuanian said, referring to the fold of his opponent. Ultimately he did get the fold but no cards shown and Cimbolas was at it again.

"Okay. I have a flush draw. Two blacks here and there," flipping over {A-Spades} {J-Clubs} for ace-high.

Havacs Eliminated

Level 18 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Attila Havacs was all in and at risk preflop with {K-Diamonds} {Q-Clubs}, almost causing Paul Gomez to fold. But Gomez did make the call with {J-Spades} {J-Hearts} and the board ran out {10-Hearts} {9-Spades} {5-Spades} {4-Hearts} {A-Diamonds}.

Short Stack Mania

Level 18 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Several players have less than 10 big blinds and it will become quite interesting in the next few minutes. Below are some of them with updated chip counts.

Saxby Survives

Level 18 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Kelly Ann Saxby was down to the last 70,000 chips and doubled up with {A-Hearts} {Q-Clubs} against {A-Clubs} {J-Hearts} after a board of {7-Diamonds} {8-Diamonds} {8-Clubs} {A-Spades} {4-Clubs}.

Four to the Money

Level 18 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

While writing down the double elimination, another two players would run out of chips and that brings us to four spots off the money. The unlucky players to miss out on the min cash are Vasile Stancu and Zanas Lubys.
