The Table of Death (Aces)

Level 10 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

Vincent Luong got moved to a new table and had just lost a bigger pot with pocket queens against a set of tens prior to this. Then, Jamie Chang moved all in from the button and was called by Luong with, what else should it be, {A-Spades} {A-Hearts}. Chang found no help with {Q-Spades} {8-Spades} and hit the rail with the board running out {5-Diamonds} {J-Diamonds} {Q-Hearts} {K-Diamonds} {A-Diamonds}.

Shortly after, Peteris Berzins called the shove of Adrian Soriano Aleman for 10,000 and the Spaniard's {10-Clubs} {10-Diamonds} were cracked by {A-Clubs} {6-Clubs} as an ace appeared on the flop and river.

Akenhead and Zeringis Busted

Level 10 : 800/1,600, 200 ante
James Akenhead
James Akenhead

Two of the bigger names in today's field, James Akenhead and 2014 finalist Mantas Zeringis, have both been unable to spin up their slightly below-average at the start of the day.

Chaplin Also Crushed by Aces

Level 10 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

Tristan Chaplin called a raise to 3,600 by Alan Dean and found top pair with {A-Diamonds} {K-Diamonds} and a back door flush draw. The continuation bet of Dean was called before Chaplin then raised the turn when a second diamond appeared. Dean put him all in and Chaplin called off only to see his opponent turn over pocket aces for top set. No help on the river for the online qualifier and that was it.

Luong Busts Citrone and Carrasco

Level 10 : 800/1,600, 200 ante
Carlo Citrone
Carlo Citrone

Joining the action on the {8-Hearts} {A-Clubs} {3-Spades} {10-Diamonds} turn, Carlo Citrone bet 8,200 and was called by Manuel Carrasco before Vincent Luong raised. Citrone moved all in and so did Carrasco with Luong snap-calling and jumping out of his chair.

Luong: {A-Hearts} {A-Diamonds}
Citrone: {8-Clubs} {10-Clubs}
Carrasco: {8-Spades} {8-Diamonds}

No card in the deck could help either opponent as Luong had the hand locked up already, a meaningless {K-Clubs} river completed the board.

Berzins is Balling

Level 9 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

"Didn't you start with less?" we asked while walking past the table of Peteris Berzins. Indeed the stack has grown significantly and Berzins had picked up pocket aces twice, once against an opponent with aces to shoot up in the rankings.

Genta Busts to Zodiatis

Level 9 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

After a flop of {9-Spades} {K-Spades} {4-Spades}, Rovertos Zodiatis had Marius-Ion Genta all in and at risk with {4-Diamonds} {4-Clubs} and had to fear kings and nines. Genta was holding {K-Diamonds} {9-Diamonds} and couldn't improve anymore after the {2-Hearts} turn and {7-Diamonds} river both bricked.

Gordon Grows

Level 9 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

On the table of Paul Price, Christopher Gordon started as one of the bigger stacks and didn't have anything to do with the two eliminations that occurred early on. However he won three smaller pots to boost his stack further and is now in the top three overall.

Bischetti Busts Tamblin

Level 9 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

Paul Tamblin moved all in for what looked like 13,000 and Cedric Bischetti flat-called from a few seats over. The action folded to William Kassouf in the big blind and he eventually folded {K-Clubs} {10-Spades}. Tamblin had two outs with his {5-Spades} {5-Clubs} against the {10-Clubs} {10-Diamonds} of Bischetti and couldn't get there on a board of {K-Hearts} {7-Spades} {9-Spades} {J-Spades} {7-Clubs}.
