Van Wesemael Was So Happy (for a Second)

Level 7 : 250/500, 75 ante

From middle position, Sander van Wesemael made it 1,200 to go and he was called in two spots; the button and big blind Andreas Høivold.

Høivold checked blind before the dealer fanned {9-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{5-Clubs}. Van Wesemael answered with a continuation bet of 1,700. The button called, and so did Høivold. Høivold checked blind again and the {J-Diamonds} hit the turn. Van Wesemael bet 4,000 this time around and just the button called, Høivold folded.

The {2-Diamonds} fell on the river and Van Wesemael bet 7,500. His opponent called instantly and Van Wesemael was happy to show his {Q-Spades}{10-Diamonds} for the nut straight. Unfortunately for him, he would get only half the pot as the button showed {Q-Hearts}{10-Hearts} for the same straight.

"I was so happy!" said Van Wesemael about getting called.

"I was also happy" said the button with a smile.

Yachou Pushes

Level 6 : 200/400, 50 ante

The button opened for 1,200 and Farid Yachou called from the small blind before the big blind added the needed chips as well. Yachou lead out for 2,000 on {J-Diamonds}{A-Hearts}{3-Hearts} and the big blind folded right away. The button called, but he folded to Yachou's 11,000 push on the {7-Spades} turn. A little bit of breathing room for the last years champion.

Geilich a Goner

Level 6 : 200/400, 50 ante

We hadn't even seen Ludovic Geilich yet, but he's out now. We just got there when Geilich was already getting up from the table to leave. His {A-Spades}{J-Hearts} was still in front of him, and he was beaten by {Q-Hearts}{Q-Spades} with the board reading {5-}{7-}{K-}{K-}{4-}. Exit for Geilich.

Van Brugge's Jack is Good

Level 6 : 200/400, 50 ante

We got there on a flop of {J-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{3-Clubs} and small blind Jer el Salsero and big blind Kees van Brugge both checked. Steve Warburton on the button bet 1,400 and just Van Brugge called.

The {6-Hearts} on the turn saw Van Brugge check again, and Warburton answered with a bet of 2,400. Van Brugge for the second time and checked for the last time once the {7-Hearts} had completed the board. Warburton hesitated for a bit before saying "I don't like that river. I got one pair."

"Jack" announced Van Brugge and he showed his {10-Clubs}{J-Hearts} after Warburton let him know the jack was good.

Another Small Pot for El Salsero

Level 5 : 150/300, 50 ante

From the hijack, Jer el Salsero raised to 700 and Kees van Brugge on the button made the call. Big blind Rob Strong squeezed to 2,700 and both El Salsero and Van Brugge called.

The flop came {J-Spades}{9-Clubs}{5-Hearts} and all three of them checked. The {J-Diamonds} on the turn paired the board and Strong checked again. El Salsero bet 2,500 and just Van Brugge called, Strong folded.

The {7-Hearts} completed the board and El Salsero checked. Van Brugge bet a mere 600 and El Salsero called right away.

Van Brugge showed his {8-Hearts}{8-Clubs} full of confidence, but El Salsero tabled the better hand with his {A-Diamonds}{9-Spades} and collected the pot.
