The field is already a bit bigger than yesterday's 115, so the organization has decided to do things a little different today concerning the dinner break. Instead of a 60-minute break for the entire field after level 6, now the tournament will break in two sessions. The players on tables 29 till 34 will have a break of 60 minutes after level 5, players on all other tables will have a dinner break after level 4.
As we arrived, Rob Strong was just seen checking from the small blind on a flop of . On the button Tobias Peters made a bet of 525 and Strong called. Strong check called another 1,450 on the turn and the completed the board. Strong checked for the third time, and Peters contemplated what to do for a bit before betting 3,850. Strong snap called. Peters showed but had to leave the pot to his neighbor as Strong tabled .
Yesterday the clock told us 115 players were registered, today the total amount of entries is up to 150. That makes for a combined field of 265 so far, and registration will remain open till the start of Day 2. Last year a total of 341 entries were made, but that year players had the option to reenter once a day plus before Day 2 for a maximum of 5 entries, while this year its a maximum of 3 entries per player.
Tobias Peters is sitting right along side Kees van Brugge, and the two have been chatting all day long. To say that it's one sided wouldn't be fair, but as per usual it's Tobias Peters doing most of it. The rest of the table is enjoying the banter as well, with Rob Strong, Jer el Salsero and Steve Warburton all joining in the conversation from time to time.
Just now, we saw the flopped getting checked through on . The hit the turn and small blind Toine Roecoert bet out 1,200. Kees van Brugge folded and Tobias Peters slammed his on the turn, happy to have taken down a pot with Van Brugge open folding to him. His smile disappeared for a second when he was informed Kees van Brugge actually hadn't just thrown away his cards without being prompted to, he in fact had folded to the bet of Roecoert.
"Ow! I didn't even know Tony was in the hand!" Peters exclaimed.
Peters was informed he was still able to play his hand, though the was now known to Roecoert of course. Peters called while noting this was a first for him.
