World Poker Tour Amsterdam and WPT Tournament of Champions winner Farid Yachou busted yesterday after pushing the action with and running them into . Just now, he again lost chips with treys.
We saw the big blind check on a flop of and under the gun player Yachou bet 700. Just the cutoff called, the big blind folded. Both Yachou and the cutoff checked on the turn and the completed the board. Yachou bet a firm 1,800 and was quickly called. Yachou tabled for just about the nut low, the cutoff showed and took it down.
Albert Hoekendijk, a regular on the Dutch tournament circuit with some nice cashes over in the United States as well, just clashed in a small pot with both long time online pro Erik van Leer and EPT and MCOP champion Noah Boeken. Guess who came out ahead?
From middle position, Van Leer opened for 625. Noah Boeken called on the button before Hoekendijk squeezed from the big blind to 2,100. Both Van Leer and Boeken called. Everyone checked on and the hit the turn. Hoekendijk bet out 3,100 and just Van Leer called, Boeken folded.
Hoekendijk checked the on the river and Van Leer checked behind after thinking about it for a bit. Hoekendijk showed and Van Leer instantly mucked.
Jason Mercier joins Remko to talk about prop betting at the World Series of Poker, his three-bracelet bet against Vanessa Selbst, and some of the high-stakes cash games he's dabbling in.
David Boyaciyan opened under the gun for 600 and he received no less than four calls. All five of them checked on and the hit the turn. Both the big blind, Boyaciyan and the hijack all checked, but cutoff Fatih Aydin bet 1,575. On the button Menno Mensonides shoved all in (for about 7,000 according to Aydin, he told us after the hand) and action folded to Aydin. Aydin called immediately and Mensonides got the bad news right away.
Menno Mensonides:
Fatih Aydin:
The river was a blank and Mensonides made his exit from the tournament. Aydin, who busted the high roller in third earlier today, is up to 45,000.
We witnessed just the tail end of a hand which would eventually result in Chino Rheem's departure. He got it in on a flop of holding . His opponent had and the on the turn and on the river.
Rheem was already out the door when the table started talking about the hand for a bit. Some frowned, one player was overheard saying "What did he even do with his stack in that hand?"
We just now noticed current Global Poker Index leader Steve O'Dwyer playing, and the first hand we saw him in cost him dear. A player in middle position opened and both O'Dwyer (hijack) and the cutoff made the call before the small blind squeezed to 3,100. The big blind and initial raiser both folded, O'Dwyer and the cutoff called.
The flop came and the small blind bet out 5,000. O'Dwyer called again, the cutoff folded. The fell on the turn and the small blind shoved all in. O'Dwyer frowned and folded.
Belgian multiple bracelet winner Kitai is down to just 7,000. He lost a couple of small pots in a row, and just was seen folding to a shove on to drop down even more. Getting short now!
The players are returning from their dinner break and are about to play the same level we had on just now (150/300 ante 25). The rest of the players will go have something to eat and return in 60 minutes.
