Joris Ruys Eliminated

Level 12 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

Another player who's seat was taken by someone else, Joris Ruys, has also been eliminated. His former neighbor told us he had gotten it in with {Q-}{Q-} against the {A-}{Q-} of Manuel Bevand. An {A-} on the flop prevented a double up for Ruys.

Steve O'Dwyer Eliminated

Level 12 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

Abdelhakim Zoufri was sitting where Steve O'Dwyer's started the day, ans so we asked former neighbor Simon Deadman if he knew what had happened to the current GPI frontrunner.

Deadman told us O'Dwyer had shoved his last 13 big blinds when action had folded to him in the small blind. The big blind called with {A-}{8-} and O'Dwyer's {9-}{7-} made no suck out.

Alblas Blasts Strong Out the Way

Level 11 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

We ran into Rob Strong as he was making his way to the exit. Strong told us he had folded for an hour and a half, only to find {K-}{Q-} off suit and push all in from the hijack. Small blind Kees Alblas woke up with {A-}{10-} and busted Strong.

We moved over to the table of Alblas where both Raoul Refos and Marcel Goldenbelt praised Alblas' aggressive plays so far today. Alblas counted out his stack; 185,000.

Down and Out

Level 11 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

The following players have all been eliminated in the first two levels today.

Salter Eliminated

Level 11 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

As we arrived, Ali Reza Kashtiaray had a bet of 3,700 in front of him on a flop of {K-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}{9-Spades}. From middle position Jack Salter had raised to 13,100 and Kashtiaray made the call.

The turn came the {5-Hearts} and Kashtiaray checked. Salter bet 24,000 and Kashtiaray check shoved. Salter called.

Kashtiaray: {Q-Clubs}{10-Clubs}
Salter: {J-Hearts}{J-Clubs}

"We need a five again!" said Salter.

It wouldn't come. Instead the {8-Diamonds} completed the board and Salter left with a pout face.
