Zoufri Doubles Through Deadman

Level 13 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

Simon Deadman just put his neighbor Abdelhakim Zoufri at risk in a pre flop all in. It was a coinflip situation between the {5-Diamonds}{5-Spades} of Zoufri and {J-Clubs}{8-Clubs} of Deadman.

The flop came {Q-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}, giving Deadman a gutshot. The {9-Spades} on the turn gave him some outs to counterfeit Zoufri's hand, but the {5-Clubs} on the river gave the Dutchman a full house and resulted in Deadman saying goodbye to 14,500 of his chips.

Refos Triples

Level 13 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante
Raoul Refos
Raoul Refos

It remains all action over on Table 25, mostly fueled by Kees Alblas who's sitting on half a million in chips but has the goal to get to the final table average of 1 million today. He was overheard saying "Gas erop!" which is the Dutch equivalent of "Let's go!"

Just now Ami Barer raised to 4,800 from early position and Kees Alblas called from the cutoff. Raoul Refos, seated in the small blind, pushed his stack of 18,400 to the middle and both Barer and Alblas called.

The flop came {8-Clubs}{5-Spades}{2-Clubs} and Barer checked. Alblas bet a quick 16,800 and Barer folded.

Raoul Refos: {J-Clubs}{J-Spades}
Kees Alblas: {A-Hearts}{8-Hearts}

The {4-Spades} on the turn and {4-Hearts} on the river were blanks and Refos tripled up.

Alblas Busts Goldenbelt in Cruel Fashion in Biggest Pot of the Tournament

Level 13 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante
Marcel Goldenbelt
Marcel Goldenbelt

While we were walking in the lower area of the tournament room, a lot of uproar on one of the tables in the elevated area was heard. We rushed over, and just saw Marcel Goldenbelt get up with hanging shoulders. He was kind enough to tell us what had happened shortly after.

Action folded around to Goldenbelt and he limped in from the small blind. His neighbor Kees Alblas in the big blind raised to 5,500 and the decision was back on Goldenbelt. The Dutchman three-bet to 17,000 and was soon facing a four-bet to 45,500 from Alblas. Goldenbelt shoved all in for about 165,000 total, and Alblas called.

Kees Alblas: {A-Spades}{Q-Spades}
Marcel Goldenbelt: {A-Clubs}{K-Clubs}

Goldenbelt was in excellent position to become the chip leader of the tournament, but the poker gods had something else in mind. The flop came {Q-Clubs}{10-Spades}{9-Spades}, giving Alblas both top pair and a flush draw, leaving Goldenbelt with a gutshot and 3 outs for a higher pair.

The {A-Diamonds} on the turn and {8-Clubs} on the river were effectively blanks, and Goldenbelt made his exit while Alblas started building the biggest chip castle in the room.

Schiffbauer Doubles Van Boxtel

Level 13 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

From early position, Anthony Zinno raised to 4,000. His neighbor Raul van Boxtel shoved all in for 17,400 and two positions down Rob Schiffbauer didn't waste any time calling. Action folded around to Zinno and the 3-time WPT champ folded. With Schiffbauer calling that quick, Van Boxtel thought he was in trouble. But it wasn't so bad:

Raul van Boxtel: {A-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}
Rob Schiffbauer: {5-Hearts}{5-Clubs}

The board ran out {A-Spades}{7-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{J-Spades}{8-Hearts} and Van Boxtel doubled up.

Armino Doubles Through Muis

Level 12 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

Jasper Meijer was the one opening the action with a raise to 3,800 from early position. Leonardo Armino three-bet to 12,000 from the button and big blind Maikel Muis shoved all in. Meijer was quick to fold, Armino called just as fast.

Maikel Muis: {A-Clubs}{K-Clubs}
Leonardo Armino: {A-Spades}{A-Diamonds}

The board ran out an uneventful {3-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{J-Diamonds} and Muis parted ways with 28,700.

Tjauw Foe Rising to the Top

Level 12 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

We could barely see Clyde Tjauw Foe behind his black and red towers, and asked him what had happened for him to become so rich in chips all of the sudden.

He told us about a hand where he raised from middle position and big blind Tom Hall called. The flop came {K-}{10-}{9-} with two diamonds and it all started out pretty regular with Hall checking. Tjauw Foe made a bet of 4,000 and Hall check raised to 12,000. Tjauw Foe wasn't done just yet and three-bet to 36,000. Hall called, leaving himself with 40,000 behind.

Both players checked the {K-} on the turn and an of suit {A-} completed the board. Hall checked, and folded to Tjauw Foe's shove.
