Dunst Wins, Torre Eliminated

Level 20 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Tony Dunst raised to 20,000 and Damien Luis called in position. Dunst continued to bet 16,000 on {9-}{3-}{2-} with two hearts, 42,000 on the {6-Hearts} turn and 45,000 on the {J-Diamonds} river. Luis called all three streets but mucked upon being shown Dunst's {K-Hearts}{J-Spades}.

Luis won all that back not much later as he battled with Leonardo Rodriguez Torre. We missed the pre-flop action but saw Torre call all in on a flop of {J-Hearts}{7-Spades}{6-Hearts}. Luis showed {J-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} and had Torre with {8-Spades}{8-Diamonds} in bad shape. The {3-Clubs} on the turn and {9-Hearts} on the river couldn't save Torre and he made his exit.

El Otmani Doubles

Level 20 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

As we approached table 37, Cyril Gomez had already checked on {5-Spades}{8-Hearts}{10-Hearts}. Houssine El Otmani answered with a shove for 53,000. Gomez called with {J-Spades}{Q-Spades} but had some catching up to do as El Otmani tabled {A-Diamonds}{A-Spades}.

The {2-Spades} on the turn gave Gomez some additional outs but the {K-Diamonds} on the river wasn't one of the cards he was looking for. Double up for El Otmani.

Barge Rivers the Better Hand

Level 20 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Action folded to Arturo Fernandez Barge on the button and he raised to 21,000. Small blind Thierry Gogniat called, the big blind folded.

Both checked on {J-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} and the {5-Hearts} hit the turn. Gogniat bet 25,000 and Barge called just about instantly.

Gogniat slid forward another 40,000 on the {5-Hearts} turn and Barge called.

Gogniat confidently showed {K-Clubs}{J-Clubs} but that hand would soon enough hit the muck as Barge turned over {9-Hearts}{10-Clubs} for a rivered two pair.

Vayssieres Finds Lucky Double

Level 20 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Leonardo Rodriguez Torre ({A-Spades}{Q-Hearts}) and Nicolas Vayssieres ({A-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}) got their chips in the middle before the flop with the latter at risk for his last 143,000 in chips.

The flop came {Q-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{7-Hearts} pairing Torre but Vayssieres had a gutshot. The {9-Hearts} on the turn didn't do it for him and he already got up from the table, but he sat down again as he spiked the {K-Clubs} on the river.

Small Pot for Dunst

Level 19 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Action folded to Dimitri Sukhorukov in the small blind and he limped in. Big blind Tony Dunst bumped it up to 26,000 and Sukhorukov called.

The two of them checked on {5-Spades}{Q-Spades}{7-Diamonds} and the {5-Diamonds} hit the turn. Sukhorukov bet out 22,000 and Dunst called.

With the {A-Diamonds} completing the board, Sukhorukov checked. Dunst checked behind.

Sukhorukov announced "Dame", a queen, showing (what we believe was) {Q-}{J-} before mucking as Dunst showed {A-Hearts}{J-Clubs}.

Sfez No More

Level 19 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Eric Sfez, start of day chip leader, has just been eliminated. A colleague told us he got it in with {4-Hearts}{2-Hearts} up against {K-Hearts}{7-Hearts} on a flop of {9-Clubs}{J-Hearts}{A-Hearts}. The two both failed to hit on the {8-Clubs} turn and {6-Diamonds} river and Sfez made his exit in 37th place (MAD 24,000).

Abdenbi Abida Eliminated

Level 19 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Abdenbi Abida was already short on the bubble, but survived to make the money. Soon after the bubble burst, though, he made his exit.

He got his last chips in with {A-Hearts}{5-Hearts} up against the {K-Hearts}{K-Diamonds} of Cyril Gomez. The board ran out {K-Spades}{9-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{5-Diamonds} and Abida was heading for the door.
