Gross Eliminates Fara

Level 6 : 40,000/80,000, 10,000 ante
Jeff Gross
Jeff Gross

Tomas Fara was all in for around one million chips and had been called by partypoker Ambassador Jeff Gross.

Tomas Fara: {4-Hearts}{4-Spades}
Jeff Gross: {10-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}

Gross found himself ahead, and the flop came {a-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}. The turn {7-Spades} did give Fara outs to a straight, but the river {q-Spades} was a brick and he was eliminated. Gross chips up to over seven million.

Pauli Ayras held {k-Hearts}{k-Clubs} against the {a-Clubs}{q-Spades} of Daniel Smiljkovic. Ayras was all in for approximately 2.5 million and his pocket pair held on the {j-Hearts}{10-Spades}{10-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{9-Diamonds} board, narrowly avoiding his opponent's straight outs to double up.

Last year, Ayras took down two Poker Masters Online events. The current Poker Masters is ongoing in Las Vegas, with Daniel Negreanu among the title winners.

The Day 1 Chip Leaders

Level 5 : 35,000/70,000, 8,750 ante
Ole Schemion
Ole Schemion

We thought we'd check in on the various Day 1 chip leaders. There are four of them in total - one each from Days 1A, 1B and 1C and the Day 1 Turbo.

Nemeth was the overall chip leader heading into Day 2, but now finds himself the shortest of this mini leaderboard. Ole Schemion was the leader of Day 1B, and also picked up a WPT WOC High Roller title while waiting for Day 2 to start, and is in a good spot for a deep run here today.
