Coloring Up

The clock has been paused at the conclusion of Level 13 for a quick unscheduled break. During this time, the blue/purple T500 chips will be raced off and colored up, making our job a heck of a lot easier.

Fouksman Finds a Queen... Or Two

Eugene Fouksman just got his last 59,500 chips into the middle against Bruce Yamron holding {K-Clubs} {Q-Diamonds}. He was in a bad spot though, as Yamron had him covered and dominated with his {A-Hearts} {K-Spades}.

Not to worry for Fouksman though; the flop came {Q-Clubs} {Q-Spades} {8-Clubs}, leap-frogging him into the big lead. The {5-Hearts} on the turn ended the hand, with a meaningless {5-Clubs} hitting the river.

Eugene Fouksman doubled up to 132,000, leaving Yamron with just about 30,000.

Bill Gazes Eliminated in 24th Place

Bill Gazes - 24th Place
Bill Gazes - 24th Place
After tangling in that monstrous pot with Allen Bari, Bill Gazes was down to under two big blinds. He waited two hands until the big blind hit him before pushing his last 11,000 into the middle. Action had been raised by Bruce Yamron, and Gazes was heads up for his tournament life.

Showdown:
Gazes: {K-Clubs} {9-Hearts}
Yamron: {A-Hearts} {J-Spades}

The board frowned on Gazes, running out {3-Hearts} {Q-Hearts} {2-Diamonds} {6-Spades} {A-Spades}. With that, our start-of-day chip leader has stunningly been eliminated from the field here in the middle of Day 2. Gazes had trouble getting his big stack moving this afternoon, being chipped down a bit in the early going, with his decline culminating in that crippling confrontation with Allen Bari.

Allen Bari Wins Monster Hand Against Bill Gazes

Allen Bari
Allen Bari
The biggest pot of the tournament thus far went in Allen Bari's favor. After a {Q-Spades} {8-Hearts} {6-Hearts} flop, Gazes checked to Bari who bet 25,000. Gazes called and the turn brought the {3-Diamonds}. Gazes checked to Bari again who slid 52,000 into the middle. Gazes went into a short tank and called. When the {5-Clubs} hit the river, Gazes checked again and Bari calmly fired a whopping 130,000.

Gazes went into deep thought before making the call, only to see Bari flip over {8-Clubs} {8-Diamonds} for a set. Gazes mucked and is now down to 12,000.

Allen Bari is the overwhelming chip leader with 550,000.

Michael Dean McCray Eliminated in 26th Place

Michael Dean McCray - 26th Place
Michael Dean McCray - 26th Place
Robert McLaughlin opened with a raise to 18,000, and Michael Dean McCray moved all in for a total of 72,000. Action passed back around the table, and McLaughlin quickly called, creating a McBattle for a heap of chips.

McShowdown:
McLaughlin: {A-Spades} {K-Diamonds}
McCray: {A-Clubs} {J-Diamonds}

The flop was certainly a sweat for both players as it came out {Q-Hearts} {J-Spades} {8-Diamonds}. McCray had stormed into the lead, but he still had to dodge a bunch of outs with two cards to come. The turn was a safe {9-Hearts} for him. Much to his dismay though, fifth street brought the dooming {K-Spades}, allowing McLaughlin to re-take the lead and win the pot. When the chips were counted down, it was very close, but McCray was covered by just a couple thousand. With that, Michael Dean McCray becomes our 26th-place finisher.

Robert McLaughlin, on the other hand, has more than doubled up, sitting now on a stack of 160,000.
