Last Break of the Day

The players are on their last 15-minute break of the day. The tournament staff is coloring up the green T25 chips before the players return for the last level of the day.

112 players remain at the break.

Kings are Good

After an under-the-gun raise to 2,600, action folded around to Robert Cheung who made the call from the big blind.

On the flop of {A-Hearts} {A-Diamonds} {K-Clubs}, both players checked. The {J-Diamonds} on the turn prompted a bet of 800 from Cheung and a raise to 3,000 from his opponent. After calling, Cheung checked the {3-Clubs} on the river and then flashed an ace before he folded to a 5,000 bet on the river. It was a good play, as his opponent tabled pocket kings for the flopped boat.

Pilgrim Puts the Kings to Work

Amir Vahedi checked the flop of {Q-Hearts} {7-Diamonds} {6-Diamonds} to Dwyte Pilgrim. Pilgrim fired a bet and was called by the player on the button. Vahedi folded.

The turn brought the {4-Hearts} and Pilgrim bet out 4,000. The button called again.

The river came the {7-Clubs} and Pilgrim bet 6,500. His opponent called once more to see Dwyte quickly turn over two black kings, {K-Spades} {K-Clubs}.

"Nicely played," commented his opponent as he mucked his hand.

David Pham Sends Another to the Rail

The Dragon
The Dragon
David Pham raised to 1,700 from under the gun and was called by one player in middle position, and then reraised all in for 4,325 by the next player to act. The action folded back to Pham who made the call, and the first caller folded.

Pham turned up {J-Clubs} {J-Spades} while his opponent tabled {8-Hearts} {8-Clubs}. When the board ran out {A-?} {2-?} {3-?} {6-?} {4-?}, the Dragon added another 9,000 chips to his stack.

Pilgrim's Progress

Amir Vahedi
Amir Vahedi
Just back from break and we already have a big hand.

Action folded to Amir Vahedi, who raised to 1,500 from the button. Dwyte Pilgrim called from the small blind, as did the big blind. After the flop of {3-Hearts} {Q-Clubs} {2-Clubs}, both blinds checked and Vahedi bet 2,000. Pilgrim raised to 5,000, inducing a fold from the big blind and a call from Vahedi.

Pilgrim led out for 6,500 after the turn brought the {3-Diamonds} and Vahedi called. Pilgrim bet another 6,500 when the {Q-Diamonds} paired the board on the river. Vahedi tanked before eventually mucking, leaving himself with about 12,000 in his stack. Pilgrim's pot boosted his chip stack to about 65,000.
