Level 25 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante
Brandon Croft
Brandon Croft

It took just about nine levels, but nine players have emerged from the starting Day 2 field of 71 to make it to the final table.

It was a tumultuous day for many, but not for chip leader Charles "Brandon" Croft. He steadily built his stack throughout the beginning stages of the day, then scored elimination after elimination to vault to the chip lead in the middle. After slowing down and letting the the rest of the field go at it, Croft eliminated Joanne Dorin in 10th place to reclaim the chip lead with 1,397,000.

Here are the final table chip counts:

Seat 1: Tam Ly - 738,000
Seat 2: Dave Cubeta - 434,000
Seat 3: Chris Bonita - 339,000
Seat 4: Mark Sykes - 1,024,000
Seat 5: Brandon Croft - 1,397,000
Seat 6: Mike Summers - 469,000
Seat 7: Manish Patel - 194,000
Seat 8: Jesus Cabrera - 1,128,000
Seat 9: Matthew Waxman - 1,334,000

Play resumes at 12 p.m. local time tomorrow to determine the winner. Our Live Reporting team will be on the floor to bring you all the final table action, so be sure to tune in. Good night from Atlantic City!

Joanne Dorin Eliminated in 10th Place ($8,958)

Level 25 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante
Joanne Dorin - 10th place
Joanne Dorin - 10th place

The table folded around to the blinds on the final hand of the night, and Joanne Dorin moved all in for about 340,000 from the small. In the big, Charles Croft squeezed out {A-Clubs} {10-Hearts} and made a quick call, and Dorin was in the worst shape imaginable as she rolled over her {9-Clubs} {10-Diamonds}.

The {A-Spades} {Q-Clubs} {4-Clubs} flop all but ended it, and the {J-Diamonds} turn officially did. The {Q-Hearts} river is the last card Dorin will see today, eliminated on the direct bubble of the final table. She'll have to be content with 10th place and a payday of $9,858, though she is visibly disappointed as she exits the room.

Cubeta Goes With Nines

Level 25 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

First into the pot from the button, Dave Cubeta raised all in for 195,000 total, and small blind Chris Bonita reraised all in with the covering stack. He was successful in isolating himself against the at-risk player, but Cubeta was in fine shape to double:

Cubeta: {9-Hearts} {9-Spades}
Bonita: {A-Clubs} {9-Clubs}

The board was kind to Cubeta, coming {8-Spades} {J-Hearts} {K-Spades} {8-Diamonds} {5-Hearts} to hold his pair and earn him the double up. He's back to about 440,000 now, while Bonita becomes the second short stack with 280,000 left in front of him.

Seat 2: Dave Cubeta (235,000)
Seat 3: Chris Bonita (540,000)

Seat 5: Joanne Dorin (375,000)
Seat 6: Charles Croft (960,000)

The cards are back in the air at the last table left in the room.

One Last Table

Level 25 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

With the elimination of Trevor Savage, the field is down to ten players. New seat cards have been handed out for reservations at the featured table up in the front of the room, and our final ten are on the move right now.

When action resumes in just a couple short minutes, we'll play on for one more elimination before bagging and tagging the chips for the overnight soak.

We'll be right back with the final seating plan and some updated chip counts.

The final table awaits!

Trevor Savage Eliminated in 11th Place ($8,958)

Level 25 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante
Trevor Savage - 11th place
Trevor Savage - 11th place

The table folded around to the blinds where Trevor Savage moved all in for about 150,000 from the small. In the big, Matthew Waxman squeezed his cards and quickly called with his massive stack putting Savage's tournament life in danger. It was a war of the aces.

Showdown
Savage: {A-Hearts} {4-Diamonds}
Waxman: {A-Spades} {Q-Spades}

The flop was a good one if you're a fan of poker, coming out {6-Diamonds} {4-Spades} {3-Spades} to hit both players pretty well. Savage had taken the lead with his three-out pair, but Waxman's spades had flopped two more, one from the knockout.

The turn was the {3-Clubs}, though, a safe blank for Savage to put him one card from the double.

River: {6-Spades}. That's not safe or a blank. The fifth spade gives Waxman the flush by definition, and he has earned the knockout. Savage is out in 11th place, and Waxman's win moves his stack back into the lead with 1.37 million.

Artie Smith Eliminated in 12th Place ($8,958)

Level 25 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante
Artie Smith - 12th place
Artie Smith - 12th place

It's been quite some time since we've seen Artie Smith drag a pot, and he won't be doing any more of that in this event now. Smith is out after open-shoving his 95,000 chips into the middle under the gun with {Q-Hearts} {J-Clubs}. Mark Sykes called with {A-Spades} {9-Diamonds} from the cutoff, and Sykes was drawing live for the double.

He flopped lucky, too. The dealer rolled out {2-Hearts} {7-Spades} {J-Diamonds} to pull Smith into a big lead, and the turn {3-Clubs} kept him safe for the time being. The river {A-Diamonds} was a disaster card, though, sending the pot and the knockout to Sykes.

It was a good battle, but Artie Smith has succumbed in 12th place. He'll move up the pay scale to nearly $9,000 for his efforts over the past two days.

Sykes On a Rush

Level 25 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante
Mark Sykes
Mark Sykes

On the last hand before break...

It was Joanne Dorin opening to 40,000 under the gun before Mark Sykes three-bet her to 103,000. Dorin tanked and jammed all in, and Sykes called all in for just shy of 500,000 total. He had it:

Dorin: {10-Clubs} {10-Diamonds}
Sykes: {A-Clubs} {A-Diamonds}

The board ran out blanks, coming {3-Diamonds} {2-Spades} {8-Diamonds} {K-Spades} {7-Clubs}, and that spells a big double up for Sykes. We've got him at 990,000 now, and Dorin has tumbled all the way down to 365,000.
