Wexler Gets Bodog'd

Level 15 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

We caught up to the action a bit late, but we're trying to catch every bit we can when Jonas Wexler and Ari Engel are playing hands.

On the turn, the board showed {6-Hearts} {5-Clubs} {2-Hearts} {6-Diamonds}, and there was just over 12,000 in the pot. Wexler took his cue to bet 6,600 at the pot, and Engel tanked and called. The {4-Spades} filled out the board, and Wexler slowed back down with a check. Engel took a few minutes to debate a bet before checking it back, much to the chagrin of Wexler.

"Augh!" he let out a cry. "You got it." Engel forced him to show his airball {J-Hearts} {8-Hearts} before tabling the winning {A-Hearts} {J-Clubs}, his ace-high good enough for the pot.

"Were you check-raising the river?" someone at the table asked.

"Ab-so-luuutely," Wexler answered.

"I believe you," Engel said, the two men trading smiles. "That's not a stretch at all."

In the eight seat, some poor amateur was lamenting his plight. "Of course I draw this table. Of course."
