Day 2 Completed

The Final Table is Set as Day 2 Concludes

Two hundred forty-six players signed up for the World Series of Poker Circuit Main Event at Harvey's in Lake Tahoe, Nevada this week. Just 51 of them survived to return for today's Day 2, all eyes on the goal of playing down to one final table of nine. After about ten hours of poker, that goal was met with Michael Traylor's stack of 1.843 million tilting the table to his side.

It was a field full of relative unknowns that returned for this second day, and their play was a bit unorthodox from time to time. Overbetting and cold-calling were the order of the day, and the pace of the eliminations ran fairly steadily from start to finish. It took just about four hours to shrink the field from 51 down to the lucky 27 cashers. Reymundo Ozuna took the proverbial wooden spoon today, losing his final all in with pocket sevens to Ned Mantua's set of fives to go out on the bubble and lock up a payday for the final three tables.

Two of the top-three Day 1 stacks were out with small cashes as both Steve Brown and Dusty Leary were erased from the leaderboard prior to the conclusion of play. Arthur Molloy assumed the duty of chip leaders for a short while, but he would soon give his full stack and his title to Traylor in a massive pot just after the dinner break.

Traylor continued to assert his chip stack for the remainder of the evening, and he was the first player to climb up over 1 million chips, doing so with relative ease. When Leroy Patitz was eliminated in 11th place, the remaining 10 players were moved together with just one more elimination standing between them and a seat at Tuesday's official final table.

It was Tom Masinter who bowed out in 10th place, losing a flip with {A-Spades} {Q-Spades} to Traylor's {8-Clubs} {8-Diamonds}. No help on board sent Masinter out as the final table bubble boy, and the final nine bagged up their chips for the overnight soak:

Seat 1: Dan Black (585,000)
Seat 2: Donna Jetter (111,000)
Seat 3: John McNeilly (263,000)
Seat 4: Joe "13" Mongkol-ua-aree (287,000)
Seat 5: Michael Traylor (1,843,000)
Seat 6: Drew Caseri (164,000)
Seat 7: Grant Hillman (484,000)
Seat 8: Ned Mantua (945,000)
Seat 9: Stanley Quinn (377,000)

The final table is set for a noon kickoff tomorrow, and we'll be right back to bring you all of the action. We hope to see you then as we crown our champion for this WSOP Circuit Main Event!

Until then, all that's left is goodnight.

Actin folded around to Michael Traylor on the button and he raised to 60,000. After the small blind folded, Tom Masinter moved all in from the big blind for 370,000. Traylor made the call.

Traylor: {8-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}
Masinter: {A-Spades}{Q-Spades}

The board ran out {J-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{K-Diamonds}{5-Hearts} and Masinter hit the rail in 10th place, also missing out on a chance to be the Casino Champion.

Leroy Patitz Eliminated in 11th Place ($6,451)

Leroy Patitz
Leroy Patitz

First into the pot, Leroy Patitz stuck his last 65,000 chips to put himself all in. Ned Mantua called next door, and Tom Masinter called from the big blind as well, creating live action between the two of them.

There was no action, however, as the two men checked down the {5-Hearts} {5-Clubs} {A-Clubs} {Q-Hearts} {7-Diamonds} board. Mantua showed up {A-Hearts} {9-Spades} first, and it was the winner. Masinter's {Q-Spades} {K-Clubs} was no good, and Patitz's {J-Hearts} {9-Clubs} could not connect with the board to keep him alive. He's out in 11th place, good for $6,451.
