And On His Farm, He Had a Double-Up

Level 26 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante

Under the gun, Dave MacDonald shoved his last 189,000 chips into the pot, and Jacob Naquin re-shoved all in right next door. The rest of the table yielded, and MacDonald was head up for his tournament life, behind but drawing live:

MacDonald: {Q-Spades} {J-Spades}
Naquin: {A-Spades} {10-Clubs}

MacDonald would have to sweat his fate all the way to the river as the board fell {K-Hearts} {5-Diamonds} {2-Diamonds} {4-Diamonds} {Q-Diamonds}. On the final card, the at-risk player finds his salvation, and MacDonald has managed to double to 450,000.

That pot was a big hit for Naquin as he's left with just about 75,000 chips with which to try and mount a comeback.

Gator Takes a Bite Out of Wiedemann

Level 26 : 12,000/24,000, 4,000 ante
Frank Hernandez
Frank Hernandez

In late position, Barry Wiedemann opened with a raise, and Frank Hernandez shoved all in for 255,000 from the button. Wiededmann called, and it was another coin flip, this time for Hernandez's tournament life:

Wiedemann: {A-Clubs} {J-Diamonds}
Hernandez: {7-Spades} {7-Clubs}

The {8-Hearts} {9-Clubs} {J-Spades} flop that the dealer spread was bad news for Hernandez, now reduced to six outs to stay afloat in this thing.

Turn: {10-Diamonds}

Well, that'll do. The gutshot comes in for "gator93", ensuring that he'd stick around and leaving Wiedemann dead to a chop. The river {2-Spades} means Hernandez gets the whole pot, though, and he's doubled up to 578,000 with that straight.

Wiedemann has slipped to 660,000.

Brody and Aprea Flip a Coin

Level 25 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

From middle position, Dave MacDonald opened to 65,000, opening a can of worms in the process. On the button, Jon Brody three-bet to 210,000, only to see big blind Thomas Aprea move all in for 357,000 total. That got MacDonald out of the way, but Brody tanked and called to put Aprea at risk. It was a race.

Showdown
Brody: {Q-Spades} {Q-Diamonds}
Aprea: {A-Spades} {K-Hearts}

The {A-Diamonds} {K-Clubs} {2-Spades} flop was right in Aprea's neighborhood, pulling him into a big lead with two cards to come. The {J-Hearts} turn opened up another four outs for Brody to make Broadway, but the river {7-Spades} was safe and sound for Aprea. He doubles up to 818,000 with that pot, and Brody is now riding the short stack with just 145,000 left in front of him.

M. Arshad Saddiqui Eliminated in 18th Place ($10,601)

Level 24 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante
M. Arshad Siddiqui - 18th place
M. Arshad Siddiqui - 18th place

On the button, Ryan Lenaghan opened the pot to 45,000. Big blind M. Arshad Saddiqui came along with the call, and it was heads up to the {Q-Clubs} {9-Spades} {A-Spades} flop. Lenaghan likes small-ball poker, and he put out a small bet of 25,000, which Siddiqui check-called.

The turn came the {6-Spades}, and Siddiqui could wait no longer. With 152,000 chips left, he moved all in, and Lenaghan made the call to put him at risk. The news was not good for Siddiqui as he would soon see that his {Q-Hearts} {5-Hearts} was drawing slim against Lenaghan's {Q-Diamonds} {J-Diamonds}.

The river {3-Clubs} was an airball for the at-risk player, and Siddiqui is out in 18th place.

Morton Doubles Again!

Level 24 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante
Mike Morton
Mike Morton

In late position, Mike Morton opened to 52,000, and Frank Hernandez was the lone caller, matching the bet to see a flop from the small blind.

It came {4-Spades} {5-Diamonds} {5-Hearts}, and the action check-checked to the {2-Diamonds} turn. That cued a leading bet of 60,000 from Hernandez, and Morton was right there with the call. The {5-Spades} on the river put trips on board, and Hernandez kept the heat on with another bet -- 95,000 this time. He looked a bit surprised when Morton raised all in for 366,000 total, but Hernandez called to see what was what.

It was aces. Morton tabled {A-Clubs} {A-Diamonds} for the nut full house, and that gets him a big double up to 990,000. It's a big blow to Hernandez's stack, and "gator93" is left with about 340,000 chips now.

Morton Makes His Move

Level 24 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

Under the gun, John Riordan opened to 50,000, and Austin Buchanan made the call in the cutoff seat. From the small blind, Mike Morton moved all in for 239,000, and Riordan took pause to consider. After a minute or so, he reraised to something like a million, successfully isolating himself against Morton with a chance at the knockout.

Showdown
Riordan: {K-Spades} {Q-Clubs}
Morton: {J-Hearts} {J-Spades}

The board ran out clean for the at-risk Morton, coming {6-Hearts} {6-Diamonds} {8-Hearts} {4-Spades} {3-Diamonds}. With his jacks holding, he doubles to 562,000.
