Easley Shows Bottom Pair

Level 27 : 15,000/30,000, 4,000 ante

From the small blind, Narinder Khasria raised to 80,000. Seneca Easley called from the big blind and the flop came down {Q-Spades}{J-Spades}{3-Hearts}. Khasria bet 100,000 and Easley made the call.

The turn was the {9-Spades} and both players checked. The river completed the board with the {2-Spades} and Khasria checked again. Easley grabbed for his chips, paused, looked up at the dealer and said, "175," before betting 175,000. Khasria folded the {A-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds} face up.

"How do you fold that?" said Easley with a smile, showing the {5-Clubs}{3-Clubs} for just bottom pair of threes.

Patrick Karschamroon Eliminated in 4th Place ($23,057)

Level 27 : 15,000/30,000, 4,000 ante
Patrick Karschamroon - 4th Place
Patrick Karschamroon - 4th Place

Action was heads up on a {7-Spades} {8-Clubs} {A-Clubs} flop, and Narinder Khasria checked. Patrick Karschamroon made a bet of what looked like 95,000, and Khasria made a relatively quick call.

That brought them to the {K-Spades} turn, and it would prove to be the action card. When Khasria checked again, Karschamroon fired 200,000 at the pot, about 40% of his remaining stack. Khasria check-raised all in over the top, and Karschamroon put himself at risk with the call. The news would not be good for him as the cards were turned over:

Khasria: {K-Clubs} {7-Clubs}
Karschamroon: {A-Diamonds} {10-Diamonds}

Karschamroon's top pair was drawing dead to an ace, an eight, or a non-club ten, but the river was the blank {3-Spades}.

Patrick Karschamroon has thusly been sent packing in fourth place, good for a payday of $23,057.

Paul Hails Eliminated in 5th Place ($17,226)

Level 27 : 15,000/30,000, 4,000 ante
Paul Hails - 5th Place
Paul Hails - 5th Place

From under the gun, Paul Hails raised to 80,000 with 196,000 behind. Action folded to Seneca Easley in the big blind and he moved all in. Hails made the call.

Hails tabled the {A-Clubs}{J-Spades} and was in a dominating position to double up and get himself out of the short-stack gutter against Easley's {A-Spades}{9-Spades}. The five community cards on the flop, turn and river would have other plans though.

The flop came down {9-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{6-Spades} to give Easley the best hand with a pair of nines. The turn was the {8-Diamonds} and the river the {4-Spades}. Hails failed to get back in front after being out-flopped and hit the rail in fifth place for over $17,000 in prize money. Easley now has about 1.5 million in chips.

Chippies

Action is a bit slow these days, with most pots being dragged preflop or checked through to the end. So how about a chip count update?

From the button, Paul Hails opened to 60,000, and Shaun Walker flatted in the small blind. From the big, Narinder Khasria three-bet to 150,000, and Hails quickly folded. Walker took his time considering, and it looked like he might have wanted to play back.

The fold came eventually, though, and Khasria added 176,000 chips to his stack just like that.
