Players are now on a 75-minute dinner break, which means we are too. New players are still welcome to register through the break, but once we return, registration will be closed. That means we'll have official numbers, including the total field and subsequent prize pool, in just a few short hours.
There was a considerable pot brewing between three players on a board reading 
. An under-the-gun player checked, Steve Verrett bet 8,000, and a player in the cutoff position made the call. After the UTG got out of the way, the 
was put out on the river and Verrett immediately moved all in for his last 15,000.
The cutoff gave it about 15 seconds worth of thought before releasing his hand. Verrett later volunteered his hand for the blog, stating that he had 
. Whatever the case, Verrett has been on a lithe pre-dinner heater, jumping all the way up to 50,000.
We took a quick survey of players that have stacks of the T5,000 orange chips.
We didn't catch the hand, but we can confirm that Allen "Chainsaw" Kessler has been eliminated from the Main Event short of the dinner break.
Faraz Jaka has been treading water most of the afternoon. With no action in front of him he moved all in on the button and was called by Andrew Barfield.

With 8,000 in the pot and a flop of 
, "Captain" Tom Franklin bet 3,000 only to have Mark "P0ker H0" Kroon shove all in for around 23,000. Franklin hit the tank for a bit before he finally sighed, "Alright," and laid down his hand. With that, the two poker pros essentially evened up in chips; however, don't expect any more confrontations between the pair as their tables just broke.
Tim Vance was on his way out the door and was kind enough to inform us of his beat beat. As Vance explained it, he held queens and put in a standard raise. A player then moved all in for 7,200 with 
and another player called with 
. Vance shipped all in over the top, and the player with the ace-jack must have felt pot committed as he made the call.
Vance managed to survive the flop, but an ace on the turn put an end to his WSOP-Circuit Hammond Main Event. Likewise, last year's winner of this event, Kurt Jewell, will not be repeating as he was also eliminated from the competition.
