We found this hand at the river with Chad Brown moving all in on the river. The board read and his opponent snap-called and tabled . Brown left his opponent visibly flabbergasted and questioning the world when he turned over . Brown is up to 630,000.
A little while back, last year's Harrah's Rincon Main Event winner Seneca Easley stopped by our desk to regretfully inform us that he had been eliminated. He stated that a player on the button had opened for a standard raise and he looked down at in the small blind. Easley shipped, but discovered the button actually had a hand in . There was no miracle, and Easley was eliminated here in Hammond.
Kenny Nguyen, or Super Tuan as some call him on the circuit, went to a flop with Ronnie Sewell. The flop came , Nguyen bet out 60,000, Sewell raised to 150,000 and then Nguyen shoved. Sewell called and the hands were tabled.
Nguyen:
Sewell:
The board finished and Nguyen collected his payout ticket and said something to the effect that the Blackjack tables were waiting for him.
Action folded around to the player in the hijack and he shoved all in for 166,000, which was called by the player in the cutoff. Nic Johnson then moved all in over the top from the button, inspiring the cutoff to fold face up.
Showdown
Johnson:
Hijack:
The player in the hijack called for a six, but couldn't catch one as the board ran out . However, the nine on the flop prompted a big f-bomb from the cutoff, who folded what would have been a set. As the old saying goes: "If ifs and buts were candy and nuts we'd all have a merry Christmas."
We found Mike Scarborough and Chad Brown in hand at the turn with a 75,000 pot. The board read and the two checked to see the river. The finished the board and Scarborough bet out 75,000 and Brown folded his hand with an exaggerated and slow motion.
It may be too late to play in the Hammond Main Event, but there are still plenty of opportunities to qualify for the National Championship. There are still plenty of opportunities to play, including any of the remaining stops on the WSOP Circuit schedule.
This is what happens when two of the three biggest stacks in the room collide. Bryan Dillon and Paul Bianchi each put about 40,000 in the pot preflop. The flop came out and Dillon checked. Bianchi slid out 70,000 and Dillon check-raised to 270,000. Bianchi sat back in his chair and chewed on his toothpick as if he was angry at it. After medium length tank Bianchi moved all in and Dillon insta-called.
Bianchi:
Dillon:
Dillon had a stranglehold on the hand by flopping the full house and Bianchi needed to catch a ten to retake the lead. The turn came up empty when it came and Bianchi stood up to watch his fate on the river. He bricked again when the river fell .
Dillon took control a massive stack and joined Crain at the top of the leaderboard. The two have a huge lead on the rest of the field.
Jenny Kim and Angela Valencia were the last two women standing. Unfortunately, the field got a whole lot less pretty with Kim and Valencia exiting in 101st and 100th place respectively.
Eric Crain raised to 18,000 from the hijack and was soon met with an all-in reraise to 130,000 by the player in the small blind. The big blind got out of the way and Crain made the call.
Showdown
Crain:
Small Blind:
Crain was way ahead and looking to dodge a queen, which is exactly what he did as the board ran out . With that, Crain is over a million in chips.
