I'm Tellin' Ma!

Charles Moore
Charles Moore

We didn't catch up to the action until the turn here, but that's where things got exciting anyways. The board showed {7-Hearts} {9-Clubs} {7-Clubs} {3-Diamonds} when we walked up, and Stephen Ma was leading out with 20,000 chips from the blinds. Charles Moore raised to 60,000, and Ma didn't waste too much time calling to see the last card.

It was the {6-Clubs}. Ma checked to the aggressor, and Moore put out a big bet of 175,000. After he did, he immediately stood up behind his chair and made some small talk about stretching. Ma would need a few minutes in the tank, and he eventually asked Moore if he'd show.

"Nope," Woody answered, pressing his lips together like a stubborn toddler. "I never show. That's just one thing I don't do. I just never show my cards unless I have to. If I have to, then I'll show. But I never show if --"

"Okay," Ma finally cut him off. "No problem."

After another couple minutes, someone (possibly Moore) called the clock. Ma tanked for 30 more seconds, then flashed his cards to Moore as he folded.

"Ooooh," Moore said, returning his cards to the dealer face-down as he raked in the pot.

Feeling 'Em Out

Level 21 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

We've played one full orbit of ten hands at the unofficial final table. During that orbit, we saw two flops, and zero turns and rivers. There hasn't been a pot over 60,000 so far in this feeling-out period.

Jagoda Sticks a Double

Casey Cavanaugh opened to 28,000 before Jeremy Jagoda shoved his last 92,000 into the middle. Cavanaugh made the quick call with a chance at the knockout. As he did, he asked, "You have a pair yet?" Jagoda nodded. "Well, you probably got me then," Cavanaugh surmised.

Showdown
Cavanaugh: {5-Diamonds} {5-Clubs}
Jagoda: {6-Diamonds} {6-Hearts}

The board, please: {2-Diamonds} {7-Spades} {10-Spades} {2-Hearts} {4-Clubs}

We're not going anywhere just yet, and neither is Jagoda. That double moves him back into contention with more than 15bb for the first time in a long time.

Niyati Takes Big Pot

Stephen Ma opened the action with a raise to 33,000, Pej Niyati called, as well as, Sean Moore and James Smth from the blinds. The four players watched the flop come {6-Spades} {6-Hearts} {Q-Hearts}. The blinds checked, Ma bet 50,000, Niyati called and the blinds released.

The turn came {3-Diamonds} and both Ma and Niyati cautiously checked. The river was the {10-Spades} and Ma bet 200,000. After short consideration Niyati announced call and tabled {Q-Spades} {9-Clubs} and Ma mucked.
