Henson Puts an End to Phillips' Day

Jacob Phillips got his stack of 31,000 all in preflop holding {A-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds} and was called by the {10-Hearts}{10-Clubs} of James Henson.

It was a race, and according to the PokerNews Odds Calculator, Philiips had a 45.92% chance of surviving the hand. Unfortunately for him, that number only got worse.

The {3-Clubs}{4-Spades}{3-Hearts} flop left him wanting and dropped his chances to 25.66%, while the {J-Clubs} turn knocked it down even further to 13.64%. Phillips needed either an ace or king on the river to keep his Choctaw Main Event hopes alive, but it was not meant to be as the {4-Clubs} blanked on the river.

Kings Up for Khodayarkhani

Reginald Roberts opened to 13,000 in early position, Kasra Khodayarkhani called from the big blind, and the flop fell {10-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}. Khodayarkhani check-called a 13,000-chip bet from Roberts, and the turn brought the {2-Hearts}.

Khodayarkhani checked again, Roberts fired 30,000, and Khodayarkhani called.

The {k-Hearts} completed the board, and for the first time Khodayarkhani led out. The bet was only worth 28,000 (less than a quarter of the pot), and Roberts called. Khodayarkhani tabled {j-Hearts}{j-Clubs}, and Roberts mucked.

Small One for Silvestri

James Henson opened to 14,000 from middle position, Mario "Pwnasaurus" Silvestri three-bet to 49,000 from the big blind, and Henson made the call.

The flop fell {k-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}, and Silvestri led out for 49,000. Henson eyed Silvestri stack, but eventually folded his hand.

Khodayarkhani Gets the Maxx

Kasra Khodayarkhani moved all in for 77,000 from early position and action folded around to Maxx Coleman, who moved all in over the top from the small blind. The big blind folded and it was off to the races.

Khodayarkhani: {A-Clubs}{J-Hearts}
Coleman: {8-Spades}{8-Diamonds}

Coleman was out in front by a slight margin, and his lead increased when the {9-Clubs}{K-Clubs}{3-Hearts} flop failed to help Khodayarkhani. Unfortunately for Coleman, who had a look of disappointment cross his face, the {J-Clubs} spiked on the turn to pair Khodayarkhani's jack. The {9-Diamonds} river wasn't the eight Coleman was looking for, and he watched nearly half his stack shipped to Khodayarkhani.

Kirby vs. Flack

Action folded to six-time World Series of Poker bracelet winner Layne Flack in the cutoff and he raised to 12,500. After the button folded, Matt Kirby three-bet to 29,000 from the small blind. The big got out of the way, Flack called, and it was heads-up action to the {9-Clubs}{A-Clubs}{7-Spades} flop.

Kirby led out for 26,000, Flack called, and then both players checked the {5-Hearts} turn and {3-Hearts} river. "Jacks," Kirby said as he rolled over {J-Clubs}{J-Hearts}. It was good as Flack looked back at his hand and then sent it to the muck.

A Few Counts

Davis Busts in Brutal Fashion

Nate Davis and Dusti Smith saw a flop of {7-Clubs}{j-Hearts}{4-Hearts}. Davis led out for 19,000, and after examining her opponent's stack, Smith tossed out a handful of grey T5,000 chips, putting Davis all in.

"Call," Davis said, committing his last 40,000 or so chips.

Davis: {k-Clubs}{j-Clubs}
Smith: {4-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}

The turn was the {q-Hearts}.

"Heart!" Smith exclaimed.

Sure enough, the {7-Hearts} fell on the river to give her a four flush and eliminate Davis from the tournament.

"Wow," he said with a shocked look on his face.

Layne Flack called Smith "the true lady luck" as she was stacking her chips, and Smith now sits with 290,000 chips.
