Well it's been a pretty good start for Matt Weber. We reported earlier that Weber won a nice pot on the first hand that he had sat down. Well we just saw him score a massive double up that by our estimations puts him at the early chip lead, despite only playing the last two levels.
We didn't catch the hand until the river, but here's what we saw. The board read , and Weber had moved all in for 29,000 on top of his opponent's 5,000 bet. His opponent was clearly pained by the decision, writhing in his chair and making frustrated faces.
After a couple minutes, Weber called the clock on his opponent, and about 30 seconds into the clock, his opponent announced call, and slammed the chips into the middle. Weber rolled over for a rivered full house, and his opponent let out an audible groan before sliding the chips over.
Weber is now sitting on a massive stack of 60,000, almost which is worth 300 big blinds at the current level.
It hasn't been easy for Joseph Kuether to defend his title here at Rincon. Last March, he late registered, doubled up early, and never hit the brakes from there. However, he was eliminated before the first break yesterday, and today, he is having equally bad luck.
We caught up with Kuether heads up in a pot on a flop. There was 3,100 in the middle, and it was checked to Kuether, who fired out 2,000. His opponent put together a raise to 7,000 and slid it into the middle. Kuether quickly folded his hand, and after that, he is down to 11,000.
Despite the one round penalty he suffered earlier, it was still a great day for Dwyte Pilgrim, as he was up to over 30,000. However, he just lost a big pot that has him down to 14,000.
Action started with the player under the gun raising to 500. Pilgrim made it 1,200 to go, and it folded around to the button. That player four bet it to 3,000, and though the original raiser folded, Pilgrim came along for the ride.
The lop came down rainbow, and Pilgrim checked to the button, who fired out 5,000. Pilgrim then announced all in, and he was immediately called.

It was a cooler flop for Pilgrim, and he wasn't able to catch up on the turn or the river. Pilgrim is still very much alive, but his current stack pales in comparison to what he had before the hand.
We didn't catch the hand that did him in, but we saw that Affleck's seat was recently filled my Michael Noori. We took to twitter, and Affleck confirmed that he was busto, but didn't give any hand details.
Matt Weber is also one of the players who came in late today, and as soon as he sat down, he got involved in a big pot.
We caught up with the action on the flop, which read . Weber called a bet of 1,500 from his opponent, and the turn was the . Weber's opponent fired out again, this time for 2,000, and again, Weber came along. The river was the , and this time, the bet was 5,000. Weber went into the tank, and started to cut out his chips. Eventually, he tossed in one T5,000 chip for the call, and his opponent said "good call" before tabling
Weber rolled over for top pair, and it was good enough to take the pot down. After that hand, Weber is up to 29,000.
It's been a tough day for young pro Matt Affleck. He has been down from his original starting stack all day, as he is now sitting on less than half his original 20,000. However, it's not due to a lack of cards. Affleck tweeted this about his frustrating day as we came back from the break.
Registration is open until Level 12, so players have plenty of time to file in today. On our first run through post break, we saw that these players had just taken their seats.
