Trips for Cheung

Robert Cheung
Robert Cheung

Robert Cheung opened to 1,250 from early position, a player on his left called, and the rest of the action behind folded.

The flop fell {k-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{5-Spades}, and both players checked. The turn was the {9-Hearts}, Cheong led for 1,250, and his opponent called.

The river was a third king - the {k-Hearts} - and Cheung tossed out 1,950. Among the chips he bet was a pink T500 chip, which his opponent thought was a blue T5,000 chip. Mulling the decision over, he finally called, and was relieved to see that it was indeed a T500 chip.

Cheung tabled {k-Diamonds}{q-Spades} for trip kings, and shook his head knowing that he could've gotten a bit more value from his hand.

Calenzo Doubles

With the blinds at 50/100 in Day 1b, and the board reading {j-Spades}{8-Hearts}{q-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}, Kevin Calenzo fired 2,450. His opponent raised to 6,500, Calenzo re-raised, his opponent put him all in for a few thousand more, and Calenzo called.

Calenzo: {10-Clubs}{9-Clubs}
Opponent: {a-Clubs}{a-Hearts}

The {4-Hearts} completed the board, and Calenzo doubled to around 45,000 chips.

Olisar's Nuts

Ryan Olisar
Ryan Olisar

After losing a few pots, Ryan Olisar found a monster double up through a player who had a straight flush draw. We're not sure when the chips went in the middle, but when we reached the table, the board was completed {q-Spades}{8-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{3-Spades}. Olisar held {j-Diamonds}{9-Clubs} for the nuts, and his opponent had {7-Hearts}{4-Hearts}.

Olisar is now back among our leaders with 72,000 chips.

A Nutcracker

On one of the last hands of Level 7, Robert Marchi opened to 825 from under the gun. A player three-bet to 2,300 from middle position, and Robert "The Raven" Theobald cold-called from the big blind. Marchi called as well, and the flop came {3-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{6-Hearts}.

Theobald led out for 2,500, Marchi raised to 6,175, and the three-bettor folded. Theobald tanked for quite some time before moving all in for around 25,000, and Marchi snapped him off.

Marchi: {5-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}
Theobald: {7-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}

Marchi flopped the stone-cold nuts, but the {3-Clubs} ripped off on the turn, giving Theobald a full house. The {10-Clubs} completed the board, and Theobald successfully doubled to around 60,000 chips.

Marchi slipped to around 12,000.
