Inselberg Chipping Up

Level 10 : 400/800, 100 ante

Dave Inselberg and an opponent were heads up on a flop of {9-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{6-Clubs}. The player tossed out two orange T1,000 chips, Inselberg called, and the turn was the {10-Hearts}.

The player slowed down, checking to Inselberg, who fired 4,000. The player tanked for a bit, examined his own stack, then folded.

Inselberg raked in the pot, and now sits with around 68,000 chips.

Clinkscales Turns a Straight

Level 9 : 300/600, 75 ante

Three players saw a flop of {5-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}, including David Diaz, Joey Brown, and Rex Clinkscales. The trio checked, and the turn brought the {8-Clubs}. Diaz led out for 2,200, Brown folded, and Clinkscales raised to 5,025. Diaz called.

The {7-Clubs} completed the board, and Diaz checked. Clinkscales checked behind. Diaz tabled {10-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} for a busted flush draw, and Clinkscales showed {9-Spades}{7-Spades} for a turned straight.

He raked in the pot, increasing his stack to 40,000 chips, while Diaz slipped to around 60,000.

Disappointing Chop For Diaz

Level 8 : 250/500, 50 ante

David Diaz made it 1,000 from the cutoff and received calls from both the small and big blinds. The flop was {K-Clubs}{J-Spades}{4-Diamonds} and there were two checks to Diaz. He continued for 1,700 and the small blind called. The big blind got out of the way and the duo saw the {10-Diamonds} strike the turn. Another check prompted 3,500 from Diaz and he received yet another call.

The {7-Spades} rivered and Diaz's opponent sat thinking for a moment.

"All-in," he said.

"Call!" snapped back Diaz, showing {A-Clubs}{Q-Hearts} for the nut straight. Unfortunately for Diaz, his opponent also rolled up {A-Spades}{Q-Diamonds} and the two were forced to chop the pot.

An Unhappy Raise-and-Take

Level 8 : 250/500, 50 ante

The action folded to David Nicholson, who has consumed a handful of adult beverages here on Day 1b, and he raised to 1,000. Both blinds released.

Nicholson slammed {a-Spades}{a-Clubs} onto the felt, and turned to David Diaz, who was sitting in the small blind.

"Why didn't you three-bet?" he shouted at Diaz. "Diaz didn't three-bet me!"

Diaz laughed.

"I folded an ace," he said.

Nicholson threw his hand into the muck, then stormed away from the table.
