Jaffee Climbing

Level 12 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

We caught up to see Jared Jaffee heads up in a raised pot with a flop that read {5-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{9-Spades}. Jaffee called his opponents continuation for 3,100 and the dealer produced a {Q-Clubs} on fourth street.

Jaffee's opponent slowed down and he took this chance to shoot 5,700 into the middle. His opponent peeked down at his cards, back and the board, and then finally released. Jaffee grabbed the pot and is thriving early here with about 118,000 in chips.

Kirk In Command

Level 12 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

Tripp Kirk made it 2,400 from under the gun and received calls from the players in the cutoff and the big blind. The flop brought {4-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}{A-Diamonds} and the big blind checked. Kirk continued for 3,200 and both players quickly released their hands awarding Kirk the pot in the process.

Kirk rolled over {J-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} for a diamond draw and a gutshot and took down the pot. He's sporting roughly 96,000 in chips.

Rauscher Above 200K

Level 12 : 600/1,200, 200 ante
Chris Rauscher (Day 1)
Chris Rauscher (Day 1)

The action folded to Michael McNeil, who moved all in for what looked like 29,000 in the small blind. Chris Rauscher tanked for a bit, examined the bet, and made the call.

McNeil: {a-Clubs}{7-Hearts}
Rauscher: {a-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}

The {q-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{j-Diamonds} flop gave Rauscher a stranglehold on the hand, and the {2-Diamonds} on the turn ended it. McNeil was already gathering his things before the {3-Diamonds} fell on the river, and promptly hit the rail.

Rauscher is now the second player to cross the 200,000-chip threshold, and now sits with around 205,000.

Rios Off To Stellar Start

Level 12 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

The board read {8-Spades}{K-Spades}{A-Clubs}{10-Spades} and we found Pedro Rios heads up in the hand with well over 19,000 already in the pot.

Rios' lone opponent checked to him and he fired 7,500 into the middle from the button. His opponent flat called and the board completed with the {5-Hearts}. Another check prompted Rios to move 18,000 forward.

"I call," announced his opponent.

Rios showed {Q-Clubs}{J-Spades} for Broadway and his opponent threw his hand away. Rios dragged in a great pot early and is now sitting on about 110,000.
