Tria's Stack Soars

We caught up to see the aftermath of the hand where Roberto Tria was able to win a huge pot that increased his stack to roughly 83,000.

The hand was recapped to us to find that Adam Levy opened the pot with a raise. Three players including Tria called to see a flop of {3-Clubs}{10-Spades}{Q-Spades}. Levy fired 3,000 on the flop only to have another one of the players move all in. Tria snap called and Levy got out of the way.

Tria: {Q-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}
Opponent: {A-}{K-}

The turn was the {7-Diamonds} and the river the {Q-Clubs}, giving Tria queens full of tens and the best hand.

Some Counts

Here are some updated chip counts of notable names throughout the room. Most notably, Robert Cheung has managed to mount a substantial comeback. Last time we checked on him he was sitting close to the felt with only about 3,000 in chips. He's managed to work that short stack back up above starting stack and currently has about 23,000.

Vaillancourt Can't Find Momentum

Action folded around to the cutoff who popped it up to 1,200. The player on the button called only to find Noah Vaillancourt three-bet to 3,700 from the small blind. The big blind and the original raiser folded and the button decided to stick around.

The two players saw a flop of {5-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{9-Spades}. Vaillancourt fired out a continuation bet of 2,500 and his opponent snap-raised him to 5,000. Vaillancourt shuffled chips and a wave of slight frustration washed over his face as he let go of his cards. He's now down to about 12,500.

Jarvis On Fire

The flop read {2-Spades}{K-Hearts}{9-Spades} and a player bet 1,600. Matt Jarvis was his lone opponent and called the bet.

The turn was the {4-Clubs} and Jarvis' opponent shot out 3,600. Jarvis flat called once more and the river brought the {4-Hearts}. Jarvis' opponent slowed down with a checked and a methodical Jarvis slowly reached for chips, counted out 6,850, and put them into the center.

"Call," announced his opponent.

Jarvis showed {A-Hearts}{k-Spades} for top pair and top kicker. Jarvis' opponent flashed the {K-Clubs} before throwing his hand to the muck. Jarvis scooped up the pot and is sitting at roughly 82,000 in chips.

A Double For Affleck

Matt Affleck opened to 900 from under the gun plus one and it folded all of the way around to the small blind who called. The big blind got out of the way and the duo saw a flop of {3-Spades}{j-Clubs}{7-Clubs}. Action was checked to Affleck and he continued for 1,300. The small blind called and the {8-Spades} hit the turn.

The small blind tapped his finger on the table once again and Affleck bet 3,100. Affleck's opponent moved all in and Affleck snapped him off for his tournament life.

Affleck: {3-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}
Opponent: {8-Hearts}{7-Hearts}

Affleck's set of treys was ahead of his opponent's two pair and he was able to retain that lead through the {6-Diamonds} river. Affleck was all in for 12,600 and is now sitting on a stack of about 30,500.
