Welcome to Day 3 of the 2016 WSOP Circuit Rozvadov Main Event

Chipleader Han Kuo
Chipleader Han Kuo

The third day of the 2016 WSOP Circuit €1,650 Main Event at the King's Casino in Rozvadov will see 47 players return to the tables. All players have already locked up €4,729 for their efforts, but their eyes are set on the coveted gold WSOP Circuit gold ring as well as the first place prize of €232,241.

Due to the overwhelming number of entrants, resulting in a €1,212,675 prize pool that shattered the guarantee, King's Casino and the WSOP have decided to add an extra day to the schedule. Previously, the plan for today was to play down to a winner, but will now be suspended when the final 8 have been reached. The final table will now be played out on Tuesday at 2 p.m. local time.

Starting off the day as the chipleader is Han Kuo from Germany, who bagged 1,673,000 after a late night surge yesterday. Kuo is closely followed by a number of very dangerous opponents, as Henning Wendlandt (1,600,000), Oriol Fernandez (1,595,000), Ivan Banic (1,366,000) and Mihai Croitoru (1,200,000) have already proven to be fierce competitors at the tables.

Russia's Alexander Lahkov (964,000), WCOOP Main Event-winner Jonas Lauck (267,000), EPT12 Grand Final winner Jan Bendik (240,000) and King's Casino's very own Ronald van de Linde (175,000) are among those still in the hunt to capture WSOP gold.

At 2 p.m. local time, play will resume in level 23 with blinds at 8,000/16,000 and a running ante of 2,000. The goal of the penultimate day is to reach the final table of eight players. Level duration will be 60 minutes for the remainder of the tournament.

The PokerNews.com team will be there to provide live reporting updates throughout the day.

After a raise from Valeri Bakhturidze, Petr Targa moved in with his short stack and Bakhturidze called.

Petr Targa: {K-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}
Valeri Bakhturidze: {A-Spades}{2-Spades}

This time, there was no escape for Targa: {Q-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{5-Spades}{Q-Clubs}{4-Clubs}. With that, the last remaining player of the Czech Republic was eliminated from the tournament.

The last remaining Georgian Bakhturidze, who's closely being monitored by a huge following, moved up to 400,000.

EPT12 Grand Final winner Jan Bendik has been eliminated from the tournament. It was a blind battle against Marco Topic that would become Bendik's final hand.

After the money went in preflop, Bendik was in great shape to double up. Holding {A-}{K-}, he was up against Marco Topic's {A-}{Q-}. Unfortunately for the Slovakian, the flop brought a queen to send the pot over to Topic.

It's Over For Georgia; Valeri Bakhturidze Eliminated in 33rd Place (€5,457)

Team Georgia, who's here in Rozvadov with a bus full of players and reporters, just saw their last man go down. With the hope of the nation resting on his shoulders, Valeri Bakhturidze had to make a move with his short stack sooner or later.

Bakthuridze shoved {J-Hearts}{9-Spades} from the small blind and Mihai Malone called in the big blind with {A-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}. At least ten Georgians on the rail jumped on their feet, and the five Georgian based reporters in the room swooped in to capture all the action as it unfolded.

It wasn't meant to be for the last Georgian, as the board {K-Spades}{10-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{3-Spades}{7-Diamonds} failed to improve his jack-high. Receiving a thunderous applause from his countrymen, Bakhturidze headed for the rail in 33rd place.

Volkan Matur

Two players got eliminated in quick succession. Tudor Popa was all in with {K-Clubs}{10-Clubs} on a {K-}{J-Clubs}{7-}{X-Clubs} board. Ivan Banic held {J-}{7-} for two pair and scored the knockout after the river blanked out.

On another table, Volkan Matur lost a big all in confrontation against Oliver Classen for nearly his entire stack. Shortly after, the Turk lost his remaining blinds to finish in 25th place.

With 24 players left, the field will now redraw for the last three tables. The reseat will follow shortly.

Fernandez Doubles Through Manole

Level 26 : 15,000/30,000, 5,000 ante
Oriol Fernandez
Oriol Fernandez

Oriol Fernandez open-shoved slightly under twenty big blinds from the cutoff and Mihai Manole reshoved all in from the button.

Oriol Fernandez: {4-Diamonds}{4-Spades}
Mihai Manole: {A-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}

The {A-Clubs}{10-Spades}{6-Clubs} flop was devastating for Fernandez, who was left drawing to the remaining fours. The Spanish rail anxiously awaited the turn being dealt and exploded when the {4-Hearts} landed. Fernandez scored a huge double-up and Manole was left crippled.

An orbit after doubling up through Mihai Malone, Oriol Fernandez opened to 60,000 from the cutoff. Ivan Banic three-bet to 180,000 from the big blind. Fernandez moved in for over 1,200,000, more than 40 big blinds, and Banic snap-called.

Oriol Fernandez: {2-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}
Ivan Banic: {J-Hearts}{J-Clubs}

Fernandez needed much help to wiggle himself out of this one, but the board {4-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{A-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{4-Hearts} failed to provide any. The young Spaniard cashed €8,426 for finishing 22nd, Banic is the new chipleader.
