Garrett Goes Runner-Runner, Sends Paredes to the Curb

Level 18 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Robert Garrett opened to 14,000 from under the gun, David Paredes moved all in for 69,000 and Garrett called, players turned over their hands.

David Paredes: {a-Spades}{k-Spades}
Robert Garrett: {a-Clubs}{j-Hearts}

The dealer spread out {8-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{4-Hearts} on the flop and Paredes' big slick was still in the lead. An interesting turn card hit the felt when the dealer flipped over a {9-Hearts}, giving Garrett a flush draw. The unlikely runner-runner flush hit the river when an {a-Hearts} completed the board. Garrett took down the pot with his flush and Paredes was sent packing.

Plotkin Nails Runner-Runner as Kurtz Takes an Exit

Level 18 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

A player opened to 12,000 and David Plotkin three-bet to 37,000. David Kurtz moved all in for 88,000 and Plotkin was the only player to stick around, the two turned over their cards.

David Kurtz: {k-Spades}{k-Hearts}
David Plotkin: {q-Spades}{q-Hearts}

The flop came down massive for Kurtz as the dealer spread out {k-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{8-Clubs}, giving Kurtz a set of cowboys. A {10-Spades} landed on the turn and Plotkin now could hit a jack to take down the pot.

The dealer peeled a {j-Diamonds} on the river, leaving Kurtz stunned as Plotkin just went runner-runner straight to overtake his set of kings. Plotkin pulled in the pot and Kurtz was sent on his way.

Plotkin First to Eclipse a Million After Knocking Two Out

Level 18 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante
David Plotkin
David Plotkin

The flop showed {10-Clubs}{8-Spades}{2-Spades} and there was around 55,000 in the pot. Action checked to Shane Brandes on the button, he bet 35,000 and David Plotkin check-called.

Mukul Pahuja moved all in for 280,000 total and Brandes quickly called all-in for less. Plotkin slammed in a stack, signifying a call and the three runners turned over their hands.

Shane Brandes: {10-Hearts}{8-Hearts}
Mukul Pahuja: {a-Hearts}{a-Clubs}
David Plotkin: {10-Spades}{9-Spades}

The dealer burned and turned a {6-Diamonds} and Brandes was still ahead with his two pair but would need to dodge to stay alive. To no one's surprise, the {3-Spades} completed the board, giving the red-hot Plotkin a flush and more than enough to take down the pot. Plotkin eliminated both opponents and is the first player to accumulate a seven figure stack.

Thomson Climbs Near the Top After Eliminating Moon

Level 19 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

David Moon opened to 16,000 from the button, Sean Thomson three-bet to 60,000 in the small blind and Moon called. The dealer spread out {a-Hearts}{9-Spades}{8-Spades} on the flop, Thomson bet 42,000 and Moon quickly moved all in. Thomson snap-called and the two tabled their hands with Moon at risk.

David Moon: {a-Spades}{10-Hearts}
Sean Thomson: {a-Clubs}{j-Clubs}

The {6-Clubs} landed on the turn and Thomson was still ahead with his higher kicker. A {6-Hearts} completed the board, cementing the pot for Thomson as he sent Moon to the payout desk.

Stashin Takes Down a Small One with Hockey Sticks

Level 19 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

Steven Stashin opened to 17,000 from middle position, Ramo Hahitti called in the cutoff, Gordon Wilcox called on the button and Stanley Lee defended his big blind.

The dealer fanned out {8-Spades}{8-Clubs}{2-Clubs} on the flop and action checked to Hahitti who bet 30,000. Stashin was the only taker as he called and the {2-Hearts} landed on the turn, bringing another pair to the board.

Both players checked to the {5-Spades} river and checked again to showdown. Hahitti tabled {4-Spades}{4-Diamonds} for snowmen and sailboats but was no good as Stashin turned over {7-Hearts}{7-Clubs} for a higher two pair, taking down the pot.
