The PokerNews Live Reporting Team is in Milwaukee to live report action the $1,700 Main Event, but is just one of a dozen gold ring events at the stop. As such, we thought we’d profile some of the preliminary tournaments and those who struck it big.

In Event #12: $400 No-Limit Hold’em One-Day, 130 entrants created a $42,900 prize pool.

That was paid out to the top 20 finishers, and among those to make the money but fall short of the final table were Todd Sladek (10th - $970), Brett Apter (11th - $815), Josh Reichard (14th - $706), Dan Dombrowski (19th - $582), and Nick Reynolds (20th - $555).

Coming out on top was 41-year-old contractor Jeremy Jacobs from Manitowoc, Wisconsin. Prior to the win, which was good for $11,529 and his first gold ring, Jacobs had just $1,436 in live tournament winnings.
