Sun's Flush Good Enough

Level 3 : 100/200, 200 ante

A player raised to 600 from middle position, and was called by Hao "John" Sun on the button and Jill Bryant in the big blind.

Action checked to Sun on a {9-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{q-Diamonds} flop, and he bet 1,000. Bryant called, and the middle position player check-raised to 3,000. Sun and Bryant both called.

Action checked through the {j-Hearts} turn, and again on the {8-Hearts} river.

"Eh, f*** it!" Sun said after checking last to act, turning over his {q-Hearts}{10-Diamonds} for a rivered queen-high flush. Both of his opponents mucked.

Sudar Takes From Semansin

Level 3 : 100/200, 200 ante

The big blind checked an {8-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{3-Hearts} flop over to Jovan Sudar in middle position, who bet 1,100. James Pupillo called in the hijack, as did Miroslav Semansin in the cutoff, while the big blind folded.

The {j-Diamonds} fell on the turn, and action checked to Semansin, who bet 2,500. Both Sudar and Pupillo called.

Action checked to Semansin again on the {5-Diamonds} river, and Semansin bet 6,000. Sudar quickly called, while Pupillo folded.

Semansin tabled {a-Hearts}{10-Hearts} for a busted straight and flush draw, while Sudar held the winner with his {9-Clubs}{8-Spades}.

"Nice hand...so happy a heart didn't come," Pupillo said.

Craig Trost Captures Second Gold Ring w/ Event #3: $600 NLH Victory

Level 4 : 100/200, 200 ante

The PokerNews Live Reporting Team is in Milwaukee to live report action the $1,700 Main Event, but is just one of a dozen gold ring events at the stop. As such, we thought we’d profile some of the preliminary tournaments and those who struck it big.

Event #3: $600 No-Limit Hold’em attracted 87 runners who created a $44,805 prize pool. That was paid out to the top 14 players and among those to cash but fall short of making the final table were Yer Vang (10th - $1,055), Daniel Sarullo (11th - $1,055), Nik Stone (12th - $1,055), Andres Garcia (13th - $935), and Ed Smith (14th - $935).

Craig Trost came into the final table with the chip lead and the 34-year-old from Madison, Wisconsin wound up the winner for $14,834 and his second gold ring.

“I want to say thank you to my very supportive wife. She is amazing and I love her very much,” Trost said with a smile on his face.

Making the experience even more special was that he was at the final table with a good friend of his.

“Jeff Minnerly is a good buddy of mine so it was really fun to make a final table with him as well,” said Trost. “Coming back to the final four, I knew all the guys were really good players. It was really fun playing with them because they are all such great guys which made it such an enjoyable experience.”

Sepiol Ousts Rogowski

Level 4 : 100/200, 200 ante

Daniel Sepiol raised to 600 from middle position, and Mike Shanahan three-bet to 2,600 from the cutoff. Andy Rogowski four-bet shoved for 8,600 in the big blind, and Sepiol five-bet shoved, chasing out Shanahan.

Andy Rogowski: {a-Clubs}{q-Hearts}
Daniel Sepiol: {a-Hearts}{k-Clubs}

Sepiol took a commanding lead on the {k-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{4-Hearts} flop, and left Rogowski drawing dead on the {6-Hearts} turn before the {7-Diamonds} river could even fall.

Koenig Five-Bet Jams

Level 4 : 100/200, 200 ante

A player raised to 500 from middle position, and William Koenig three-bet to 1,600 from the hijack. The cutoff called, and action folded back to the middle position player, who four-bet to 7,000. Koenig paused for a moment before announcing, "All in," which quickly chased off the cutoff.

"Is that thirty-five?" the middle position player asked Koenig.

"I have over forty," Koenig responded. His stack was broken down and was revealed to be 42,600, and the middle position player folded after a few moments in the tank.
