Lukacs Wounds Efron

Level 14 : 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante

Scott Efron's stack was signifigantly reduced from it's previous high mark as many of his chips appeared to have moved over to his immediate right into the stack of Mihaly Lukacs.

According to Efron, his pocket aces were cracked by the {j-}{q-} of Lukacs when they got it all in on the turn on a board featuring a jack and a queen which gave Lukacs the winning two pair hand.

Moses Carves Into Miles

Level 13 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante
David Moses (In a previous Event)
David Moses (In a previous Event)

Timothy Miles did not have his large stack for long as he was seen giving a decent portion of his stack over to his immediate right to David Moses.

Moses's {a-Clubs}{q-Diamonds} was showing as the winning hand on a board that had run out {10-Spades}{k-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{8-Spades}{6-Diamonds} to best the off suit {a-}{9-} of Miles in a pre-flop all in.

According to Moses he raised to 4,000, Miles made it 16,000 and then Moses came over the top with an all in rip which Miles called.

Miles Gets a Gift

Level 13 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Action retold to PokerNews.

The under the gun player raised to 6,000 and Timothy Miles defended out of the small blind. Miles then checked dark before the flop came {7-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{9-Hearts}.

The under the gun player moved all in for about 80,000 into a pot of 16,000. Miles snap called and turned over the nuts of the nuts with the {j-Hearts}{10-Hearts} for the straight flush which crushed the {q-Diamonds}{q-Hearts} of his opponent and gratefully took in the large boon of chips to move his stack amongst the leaders.

O'Hara Regains Lead on River

Level 13 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

On the turn the board read {3-Hearts}{5-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{j-Spades}. Ian O'Hara bet 5,500 which was called by Cord Garcia. The river came the {k-Clubs}.

O'Hara gathered his chips and made another bet, this time to 18,000. Garcia made the call.

O'Hara flipped over the {a-Hearts}{k-Spades} for rivered top pair while Garcia showed his defeated {a-Clubs}{j-} and O'Hara took in the pot.

Zach Mullennix Captures Second Career Ring with Event #3: $1,125 No-Limit Hold’em Victory

Level 12 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante
Zachary Mullennix

The PokerNews Live Reporting Team is at Florida’s Seminole Coconut Creek to live report action from both the $2,200 High Roller and $1,700 Main Event, but is just one of a dozen gold ring events at the stop. As such, we thought we’d profile some of the preliminary tournaments and those who struck it big.

In Event #3: $1,125 No-Limit Hold’em, 89 entrants created a $89,000 prize pool that was paid out to the top 14 players. Among those to cash but fall short of the final table were Richard Rice (10th - $1,877), Jason Wandling (11th - $1,877), Stephen Hung (12th - $1,877), Alan Kraut (13th - $1,664), and Scott Harwood (14th - $1,664).

In the end, Zach Mullennix bested Ryan Van Sanford in heads-up play to win the title and $26,412 first-place prize. It marked the second career gold ring for Mullennix.

“It’s really cool. I wasn’t even sure if I was going to play this event and I decided it to fire it. I’m really lucky to get the win,” Mullennix said after his victory.

He continued: “It was really a couple of big hands, particularly against Ryan (Van Sanford) where I just had good hands. He was in a position where he was going to be bluffing a lot, and I was able to put chips in the pot and win the hand.”
