Miegel Doubles Into the Lead

Level 14 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante
Jakob Miegel
Jakob Miegel

In the previous hand, Jakob Miegel open-shoved from the small blind and Zhong Chen tank-folded from the big blind. The subsequent hand prompted another shove from Miegel, this time on the button for 410,000. Anton Morgenstern snap-called it off from the big blind.

Jakob Miegel: {9-Spades}{9-Diamonds}
Anton Morgenstern: {a-Clubs}{k-Clubs}

The {2-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{4-Spades}{8-Hearts} board kept Miegel's pair in the lead and he soared to 850,000. Morgenstern slipped to 805,000 and had to relinquish the lead for the first time in hours.

Morgenstern Bets Big

Level 14 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

Marek Blasko raised to 45,000 from under the gun and Anton Morgenstern decided to defend his big blind.

They both checked through the {2-Spades}{9-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} flop to the {j-Diamonds} on the turn. Morgenstern fired 150,000 over the line which sent Blasko into the tank. Blasko counted out his remaining chips which accumulated to 371,000 in total, looked at his cards again, stacked his chips back up, and took some more time to consider his options. After a while, Blasko decided to let the hand go.

Fabian Gumz Eliminated in 5th Place

Level 14 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante
Fabian Gumz
Fabian Gumz

Fabian Gumz moved in for around 150,000 first to act. Jakob Miegel wasted no time coming over the top all in for 300,000 and all other players folded.

Fabian Gumz: {k-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}
Jakob Miegel: {a-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}

The {q-Hearts}{10-Spades}{3-Diamonds} killed Gumz' kings as outs, but gave him an open-ended to work with instead. The {j-Hearts} on the turn was the wrong Broadway card for Gumz, and he drew a blank on the {6-Hearts} river as well.

With Gumz' exit in 5th place, the field is now on the bubble.

Viktor Walter Eliminated in 6th Place

Level 14 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante
Viktor Walter
Viktor Walter

Anton Morgenstern raised from under the gun and called off a 143,000 reshove from Viktor Walter.

Viktor Walter: {3-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}
Anton Morgenstern: {k-Hearts}{9-Spades}

The {4-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} flop kept Walter in the lead but Morgenstern, who seemingly can't miss anything today, caught another big card when the {k-Spades} landed on the turn. The river was the {8-Spades} and Walter came up short once again on his third and final bullet of the day.

Oleksandr Sadovyi Eliminated in 7th Place

Level 14 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante
Oleksandr Sadovyi
Oleksandr Sadovyi

The flop read {k-Diamonds}{j-Spades}{2-Spades} after Zhong Chen had raised preflop and Oleksandr Sadovyi had defended his big blind. Sadovyi check-called the 35,000 continuation-bet of Chen.

The turn brought them the {9-Clubs} for Sadovyi to check again. Chen barreled another bet over the line, now it was a bet of 65,000. Sadovyi glimpsed at his cards once more before making the call.

The {4-Clubs} on the river completed the board and Sadovyi snap-shoved his stack over the line. Chen asked for a count and the dealer confirmed Sadovyi had 178,000 behind. Chen took his time and then made the call.

Sadovyi flipped over {k-Spades}{8-Spades} for the flopped top pair but couldn't beat the {9-Spades}{9-Hearts} of Chen who had turned a set of nines to eliminate Sadovyi from the High Roller in seventh place.

Miegel Gets the Fold

Level 13 : 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante

Anton Morgenstern raised to 35,000 from the hijack and was only called by Jakob Miegel in the big blind.

The flop came {k-Spades}{9-Clubs}{3-Clubs} and Miegel shoved immediately. Morgenstern contemplated his options for a while but opted to fold in the end. Miegel showed the {2-Hearts} to Morgenstern and the rest of the table before scooping up some extra chips.

Michal Mrakes Eliminated in 8th Place

Level 13 : 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante
Michal Mrakes
Michal Mrakes

Chipleader Anton Morgenstern shoved enough from the small blind to put Michal Mrakes at risk and he called it off for around 165,000.

Michal Mrakes: {k-Clubs}{q-Clubs}
Anton Morgenstern: {7-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}

Morgenstern flopped himself into the lead on {7-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{8-Spades} but Mrakes caught a {q-Diamonds} on the turn to swing the pendulum back to him. The {6-Clubs} river, however, gave Morgenstern two pair and Mrakes had to leave empty-handed.

Level 13 : 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante
Michael Sklenicka
Michael Sklenicka

Michael Sklenicka shoved from the lojack for 128,000 in total and Marek Blasko was next up to act in the hijack. Blasko counted out his stack and looked at his cards again before making the call. The rest of the table folded after they all considered their options for a bit.

Michael Sklenicka: {a-Clubs}{2-Spades}
Marek Blasko: {7-Spades}{7-Hearts}

The board ran out {5-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{j-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{5-Spades} to not provide any help to Sklenicka as he was eliminated in ninth place.

The tournament clock was paused briefly while the players posed for their official final table pictures which are to follow.
