"Just a King" is Just Enough

Level 22 : 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante

Four players saw a {10-Spades}{k-Spades}{j-Diamonds} flop for the minimum and Jorden Helstern led out for 18,000. Big blind Scott Caldwell shoved for 106,000 and the other two players folded. After about a minute, Helstern called.

"Just a king," Caldwell said, showing {k-Diamonds}{9-Spades}.

It was good as Helstern had {q-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} for a inferior pair with a draw. The {7-Spades} and {5-Clubs} were bricks on the turn and river. Afterward, Helstern needled Caldwell but saying "just a king" on a king-high board.

Caldwell on Fumes

Level 22 : 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante

In a three-way pot, Dean Hoffman bet 55,000 from the big blind on a board of {a-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{j-Spades}{7-Diamonds}. Scott Caldwell called in the cutoff and they went heads up to a {7-Spades}. Hoffman bet 75,000 and Caldwell tank-called, though he didn't seem happy about it.

Hoffman showed {a-Spades}{q-Hearts} and Caldwell flicked in his {a-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}, showing he'd missed the nut flush.

Koeln Still Running Well

Level 21 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

Mark Koeln defended the big blind and check-called two barrels, 30,000 and 51,000, from Jon Lawson on a board of {3-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}. On the river, Koeln came out betting with 125,000. Lawson seemed disgusted but called fairly quickly.

Koeln showed {a-Clubs}{7-Spades} for a seven-high straight.

Mullennix Pays Koeln

Level 21 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

Mark Koeln opened in the cutoff and Zack Mullennix called on the button. Koeln bet 44,000 on the {a-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} flop and Mullennix peeled. They both checked the {3-Spades}, bringing a {3-Clubs}. Koeln bet 75,000. Mullennix took about 90 seconds and called, but he couldn't beat {a-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}.

Greg Wood Eliminated in 14th Place ($5,707)

Level 21 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Greg Wood
Greg Wood

Greg Wood shoved all in from the button for about 170,000 and Scott Caldwell was in there with a quick call from the big blind.

Caldwell: {9-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}
Wood: {q-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}

The {3-Spades}{k-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{k-Hearts} brought nothing for Wood and he headed to payouts.

Waller Rips the Flop

Level 21 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

Greg Wood opened for 24,000 and got three callers. On the {9-Hearts}{10-Spades}{2-Diamonds} flop, Wood continued for 46,000. He got through one player but Kevin Waller woke up with an all-in shove from the small blind. The big blind mucked and Wood did the same.
