The WSOP Circuit Marrakech 15,000 MAD (€1,400) Main Event at the Casino de Marrakech, located in the heart of the Es Saadi Resort, has been a massive success.
A new attendance record was established on Day 1b with 398 entrants coming out in full force to bring the total Main Event field up to 625 entrants including 228 re-entries.
The previous record, which was established in January 2019 with 544 entrants, was smashed by 81 entrants.

France's Marius Conan (lead image) emerged as the Day 1b chip leader after 12 blind levels of 45 minutes each after bagging a huge stack of 299,000 in chips or nearly 10-times the starting stack of 30,000. Also bagging top five stacks on Day 1b were Morocco's Ghassane Ghehbi (263,000), Spain's TMV (249,000), Bulgaria's Elvira Malay (245,000), and Spain's Joselito (243,000).
Conan will enter Day 2 second in chips behind Day 1a chip leader Ayman Jarrar from Morocco who bagged a huge stack of 351,000 in chips.
Other notables to bag big stacks on Day 1b included WSOP Circuit ring winner Thierry Delpui (238,000), Samiyel Duzgun (198,000), Jerome Zerbib (192,000), Bruno "Kool Shen" Lopes (184,000), Patrick Sacrispeyre (162,000), and flag hunter Andrew Hills (106,000).
PMU.fr Ambassador Joffrey Lhote bagged 74,000 in chips on Day 1b and will be joined by fellow ambassadors Paul Guichard (130,000) and Erwann Pecheux (65,500), along with a handful of PMU.fr qualifiers.

The tournament director announced that play will end after each table plays five hands. Surviving players will bag chips and return at 1 p.m. CET for Day 2 along with the 61 Day 1a survivors.
It's not often you see a royal flush but one just happened.
A player with the nickname Jose jammed for 6,100 with from early position before Fouad Bouhrani three-bet to 10,100 from the cutoff with .
"You are in good shape," someone at the table said to Jose.
"Don't worry," said Jose. "Something will happen."
Something indeed did happen. Jose nailed a royal flush as the ran out on the board.
It isn't all bad news for Jose as he is on the final table of the High Roller which will either resume tonight after Day 1b or tomorrow.

Davidi Kitai was low on chips and jammed for about 17,000 from early position with . A player with the nickname Said Balr called from the big blind with .
"Good game," said Kitai as his opponent nailed a set on the flop.
"Wait," said Said Balr. "You can still get a flush."
Kitai had backdoor straight outs as well but was drawing dead after the came on the turn. The completed the board on the river and Kitai was unable to survive the day.
