Players Bagging Chips

Level 12 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Unofficially, 114 players survived Day 1b. This would mean 169 players will be returning tomorrow at 1 p.m. for Day 2 with 61 players surviving Day 1a.

Stay tuned for the final chip counts and recap of Day 1b of the Main Event.

Final Five Hands

Level 12 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

The tournament director announced that play will end after each table plays five hands. Surviving players will bag chips and return at 1 p.m. CET for Day 2 along with the 61 Day 1a survivors.

Royal Flush for Bouhrani!

Level 12 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

It's not often you see a royal flush but one just happened.

A player with the nickname Jose jammed for 6,100 with {k-Hearts}{k-Spades} from early position before Fouad Bouhrani three-bet to 10,100 from the cutoff with {q-Clubs}{j-Clubs}.

"You are in good shape," someone at the table said to Jose.

"Don't worry," said Jose. "Something will happen."

Something indeed did happen. Jose nailed a royal flush as the {a-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{k-Clubs}{q-Spades} ran out on the board.

It isn't all bad news for Jose as he is on the final table of the High Roller which will either resume tonight after Day 1b or tomorrow.

Kitai Eliminated

Level 12 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Davidi Kitai was low on chips and jammed for about 17,000 from early position with {a-Spades}{10-Hearts}. A player with the nickname Said Balr called from the big blind with {8-Clubs}{8-Hearts}.

"Good game," said Kitai as his opponent nailed a set on the {2-Spades}{8-Spades}{3-Diamonds} flop.

"Wait," said Said Balr. "You can still get a flush."

Kitai had backdoor straight outs as well but was drawing dead after the {q-Hearts} came on the turn. The {4-Diamonds} completed the board on the river and Kitai was unable to survive the day.
