Chen Goes Nuts; Hanu Hits the Rail

Level 20 : 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante
Mihai Ciprian Hanu

Li Chen loudly shouted "yes yes yes, fuck him, yes" as he had just knocked out Mihai Ciprian Hanu. Apparently both players had traded some words and the ecstatic Chen raked in the pot with a rather marginal hand. He called out of the big blind with the {8-Clubs}{2-Spades} when Hanu went with his {a-Diamonds}{q-Clubs} from under the gun for what appeared to be 281,000.

The board ran out {k-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{k-Clubs}{10-Hearts} and the mighty eight was enough to knock out Hanu, while Chen soared to the top of the leaderboard.

D'Angelo Blows-up in Spectacular Fashion

Level 20 : 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante
Daniele D'Angelo

Symeon Alexandridis bet 33,000 from the cut off which was called by Daniele D'Angelo in the big blind. Alexandridis continued on a flop of {q-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} which was quickly called by D'Angelo.

The turn brought a third {q-Clubs} which led D'Angelo to bet 66,000 out of turn. Alexandridis did not believe this line and shoved his remaining stack of 183,000. D'Angelo folded without hesitation and Alexandridis flipped over {k-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} for a bluff. D'Angelo claimed he had {a-}{5-}.

The fireworks continued two hands later when Rene Crha bet 32,000 from the high jack. D'Angelo three-bet to 92,000 which was swiftly followed by a four-bet from Crha for 212,000. D'Angelo cut out the necessary chips to call.

The flop was {8-Clubs}{6-Spades}{3-Diamonds}. Crha bet 185,000 and faced an instant shove from D'Angelo which was snap-called by Crha who confidently rolled over {k-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}. D'Angelo looked up to the chandeliers and turned over {a-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}. The {k-Clubs} on the turn confirmed the win for Crha who scored a massive double-up. D'Angelo has gone from a very healthy stack to a ten big blind stack in the space of three hands.

Who Will Reach the Final Table of the 2022 WSOP International Circuit Spring Edition €1,700 Main Event?

Martin Kabrhel

The next major live poker festival in Europe's biggest poker arena at the King's Resort in Rozvadov is just two days away from crowning a winner. In the Spring Edition of the 2022 WSOP International Circuit €1,700 Main Event, just 57 players out of a field of 648 entries remain in contention for the biggest slice of the €1,000,000 guaranteed prize pool.

On top of the cash prizes, the top 12 finishers will also receive an entry into the 2022 WSOP Europe €10,350 Main Event which is slated to take place towards the end of the year. It will be one of the significant pay jumps looming as the penultimate day whittles the field down to the final nine players.

Ten players have a seven-figure stack at their disposal and Ruslan Volkov leads the way with 1,378,000 in chips. Only a few big blinds behind are the €2,200 High Roller ring event winner Fausto Tantillo (1,330,000) and two-time WSOP bracelet winner Martin Kabrhel (1,265,000). Among the overnight top ten is also the 2021 WSOP Europe Main Event winner Josef Gulas Jr (1,034,000), who surged up on the leaderboard on the live stream feature table during the final stages.

Just outside of the top ten is Italy's Claudio Di Giacomo, who finished fifth in the last edition of the WSOP Circuit Main Event at King's Resort in January 2022. He will return with a healthy stack of 945,000, which is nearly two times the average. Still in contention for the top prize of €160,500 are also familiar names such as Lukas Zaskodny, Raoul Refos, Vincent De Neve, 2021 WSOP Europe bracelet winner Edmond Jahjaga, David Taborsky, Mihai Ciprian Hanu, and Day 1a chip leader Tibor Nagygyörgy. Stephanie Agostinetti is the last woman in the field and returns with a stack of 354,000.

The action is slated to recommence at 2pm local time in level 20, which features blinds of 8,000-16,000 and a big blind ante of 16,000. All levels will last 60 minutes each and the opening stages are expected to come with a flurry of all-in showdowns. There will be a redraw with 24 and 16 players remaining and the action concludes once nine contenders still have chips at their disposal.

Throughout the day, there will also be live stream action of the feature table after the first break on a security delay of 60 minutes on the King's Resort Twitch and YouTube channels. The PokerNews live reporting team will be on the floor to share as many of the key hands as possible until the conclusion of the tournament on Tuesday, April 19, 2022.
