Or Paz Gets a Shove Through

Level 2 : Blinds 100/300, 300 ante

Heads-up to the {q-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{9-Diamonds} turn, Jason Wheeler checked and then faced a shove by Tom Or Paz for 17,500. That sent the American poker pro, who now calls Prague his home, into a brief tank.

Wheeler eventually folded and Or Paz allowed him to pick one of the cards in order to reveal the {7-Clubs}.

Helou Cannot Bluff La Iacona

Level 2 : Blinds 100/300, 300 ante

Picking up the action on the {a-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{4-Spades}{10-Hearts} turn, Mark Helou in the blinds checked and Gaetano La Iacona bet 2,500. Helou check-raised to 10,500 and received a call.

On the {k-Clubs} river, Helou bet 13,000 and La Iacona instantly called. The last aggressor didn't table the cards yet as La Iacona turned {q-Hearts}{7-Hearts} for the second nuts and Helou mucked.

The start into Day 1a had been rough for Pierre Neuville as his stack was quickly cut into nearly half. Just now he was all-in for around 17,000 on the {8-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{a-Hearts} turn and looked up by Samuel Ju.

Pierre Neuville: {a-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}
Samuel Ju: {a-Clubs}{q-Clubs}

The {j-Clubs} fell on the river and Neuville doubled back to nearly the starting stack.

Following a raise by Pasquale Di Ceglie to 700 and a three-bet to 2,200 by Vaclav Jelinek, Oliver Heidel jammed for the last 8,900 in the small blind. The big blind folded and so did Di Ceglie, while Jelinek sigh-called.

Oliver Heidel: {8-Spades}{8-Hearts}
Vaclav Jelinek: {k-Clubs}{j-Clubs}

The {k-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{3-Spades} flop improved Jelinek, who remained ahead on the {6-Diamonds} turn and {5-Hearts} river.

Moments before the blinds went up, a three-way pot emerged in which 6,000 in chips were invested prior to the {5-Hearts}{4-Spades}{3-Spades}{10-Clubs} turn. The action checked to Pierre Neuville and he made it 7,000 to go.

Mario Colavita then raised big by using all his large chip denominations and that sent Alain Zahler into the tank. Once Zahler folded, Neuville came to the same conclusion and Colavita dragged in a healthy pot without any showdown.

Kribben Loses A Large Pot

Level 1 : Blinds 100/200, 200 ante

Pocket aces have been involved in the action a lot of times already in the first level of the day. Stephan Kribben was among those to win a big pot with them when he bet the {10-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{7-Hearts} river for 15,000.

Catalin Dragomir called with three orange T-5,000 chips and was good with the {8-Hearts}{6-Hearts} for a flush to beat Kribben's {a-Hearts}{a-Spades}.
