Schmitz Out and Back In

Level 6 : Blinds 400/800, 800 ante
Tonino Schmitz
Tonino Schmitz

"I saw his watch and then it was obvious what to do," Leon Rewald joked after he had just knocked out Tonino Schmitz. The latter pushed into a squeeze worth 30,000 by Rewald and was snap-called for the following preflop showdown.

Tonino Schmitz: {8-Hearts}{6-Hearts}
Leon Rewald: {a-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}

"It's coming anyways," Schmitz joked but the {k-Clubs}{j-Clubs}{5-Hearts} flop had him on the brink of elimination. It was all over on the {3-Clubs} turn to make the {j-Spades} river a formality.

"No worries, I will be right back, re-entry," Schmitz said with a grin on the face.

Big Double for Giudice

Level 6 : Blinds 400/800, 800 ante
Giovanni Giudice
Giovanni Giudice

Three ways to the {5-Clubs}{3-Spades}{3-Diamonds} flop with 21,800 in the middle, Alain Bauer simply pushed all-in having his two opponents covered. Giovanni Giudice called all-in for 64,800 while De Han Kim folded.

Giovanni Giudice: {k-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}
Alain Bauer: {a-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}

The {2-Clubs} turn was a sweat with the gutshot but the {3-Hearts} river only improved Giudice to a full house.

Brimmers Back Above the Starting Stack

Level 6 : Blinds 400/800, 800 ante
Gerhard Brimmers
Gerhard Brimmers

Gerhard Brimmers had earlier lost a portion of his stack with kings and was left short. He then got it in preflop in a three-way all-in against Mario Baietta and Rotem Chen.

Mario Baietta: {6-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}
Gerhard Brimmers: {k-Clubs}{k-Hearts}
Rotem Chen: {j-Spades}{j-Clubs}

The board ran out {a-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{8-Clubs} and Brimmers nearly tripled up as Baietta hit the rail.

No King for King

Level 5 : Blinds 300/600, 600 ante

Gregory King made it 4,000 to go on the button and Alessandro Pezzoli reraised to 15,000 out of the big blind. King then made it 35,000 to go only for Pezzoli to shove. The Irishman sigh-called and both tabled their cards.

Alessandro Pezzoli: {a-Spades}{a-Hearts}
Gregory King: {k-Hearts}{k-Clubs}

No king appeared on the {q-Hearts}{7-Spades}{5-Spades}{q-Diamonds}{6-Hearts} and Pezzoli doubled for around 66,000. King was left with a mere 800 chips and headed out of the tournament area in sheer frustration.

Kersebom Is Eating "German Schnitzel"

Level 5 : Blinds 300/600, 600 ante
Hans Kersebom
Hans Kersebom

On a turn of {k-Hearts}{q-Clubs}{5-Spades}{j-Diamonds}, Hans Kersebom bet 12,000 into a pot of 27,000 and "German Schnitzel" called. The {q-Diamonds} fell on the river and Kersebom jammed with the slightly superior stack.

"German Schnitzel" called for 26,100 and was shown the {q-Hearts}{j-Hearts} for queens full of jacks by Kersebom, flashing his {10-Diamonds}{9-Hearts} for the straight.

"If I jam the turn, what would happen?" he inquired and Kersebom replied with a "then it would have become difficult for me" before both parted ways.

Sievers Gets Thin Value From Earle

Level 5 : Blinds 300/600, 600 ante

Payam Ansarian was no longer to be found at his previous table and Elvis Earle had emerged as a new big stack. He put the chips to use with an open raise to 1,400 from under the gun, which Fariss Ebolheb from one seat over and Nicolas Sievers in the big blind called.

On a flop of {6-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{2-Spades} flop, Sievers checked and Earle's bet of 3,400 was called by both opponents. The {9-Diamonds} turn was checked and Sievers bet the {7-Clubs} river for 7,000.

Earle called and Ebolheb folded to see Sievers take down the pot with the {7-Spades}{4-Spades} for two pair. "I folded six four," Ebolheb mentioned in the table chat.

Two Premium Hands Chop It Up

Level 5 : Blinds 300/600, 600 ante

Joining the action on the {k-Diamonds}{q-Spades}{6-Spades} flop, Ido Aboudi checked and then called a bet worth 5,000 by table neighbour Berkan Munar. The same action repeated on the {8-Diamonds} turn for 8,000.

Once the {6-Diamonds} fell on the river, both players opted to check. Aboudi tabled the {a-Spades}{k-Hearts} and that chopped against {a-Clubs}{k-Spades} as they smiled and bumped fists.
