GGPoker Buys World Series of Poker for $500 Million; WSOP to Remain in Vegas for 20 Years

Caesars Entertainment has announced that they will be selling the iconic World Series of Poker brand to NSUS Group Inc, a leading investment group and operator of leading online poker room GGPoker.

The deal is set to be worth $500 million — $250 million in cash and a $250 million promissory note "due five years after the transaction's closing date", according to the press release.

The sale comes off the back of the largest WSOP Main Event in history and less than four months before the return of WSOP Paradise to the Bahamas.

Peter Raimondi bet 5,500 from the big blind on a turn showing 4♦3♣8♦J♥. His opponent called.

The river was the 9♠. Raimondi bet again, this time for 6,000 and got another call.

Raimondi tabled the K♦J♦ for the winner as his opponent mucked.

Action was on the flop as it read 8♦7♦2♣. Reese Carter bet 1,500 and was called by his opponent.

The turn came the J♣. Carter check-called a bet of 3,000 from his opponent. The river was the A♠. Carter fired out 6,500 and was quickly called.

Carter tabled the A♣10♥ for a rivered pair of aces which was the winner as his opponent frustratedly turned over KxKx and shook his head.

The flop read 6♣8♠2♣. Pablo Mariz bet 1,600, Richard Alsup made it 6,000. There was then a series of quick raises and re-raises where the chips ended up all in the middle.

Both players had nothing but a flush draw with the king-high of Mariz having the best of it. The turn was the Q♥ and the river the 2♦ to keep the king-high as the best hand as Alsup was busted.
