Tough Flop, Tougher Turn

Level 21 : Blinds 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

The action folded Shaan Siddiqui in middle position who took a moment and then moved all in for his last 215,000. It then folded to Day 1b chip leader, Rami Hammoud, on the button who rejammed and the rest of the players folded.

Shaan Siddiqui: A10 All in
Rami Hammoud: AQ

Siddiqui needed some help and the ten of clubs was in the window on the 1025 flop. The celebration was a bit premature though. The dealer quickly peeled off the Q on the turn and the Q would only improve Hammoud. Siddiqui hit the rail after and impressive run.

Brotherwood Shows the Goods

Level 22 : Blinds 15,000/25,000, 25,000 ante

Shane Brotherwood opened to 60,000 from middle position before getting called by current chip leader Dustin Melanson in the cutoff. The remaining players folded and they were off to a flop heads up.

The K3K flop landed and the action checked to Melanson who opted to bet 50,000. The action was back on Brotherwood who only took a moment before putting in a check-raise to 150,000. Melanson thought it over for a good bit and then called.

The 10 landed on the turn and Brotherwood went with a downbet to 100,000. Melanson sat in the tank for close to two minutes before finding the fold. Brotherwood was kind enough to flash a king before mucking and Melanson knuckled the table to say good hand.

Dubreuil Almost Gets it Through

Level 23 : Blinds 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante

Michel Dubreuil opened in middle position to 60,000 before getting called on the button by Derek Jonathan Van Lieshout and then the big blind defended. They were three-ways to a 4103 flop and it checked all the way to Van Lieshout who bet 60,000. The big blind folded and Dubreuil put in a call.

The K hit the turn and without wasting any time, Dubreuil led out for 80,000. Van Lieshout thought for awhile before calling and the Q rolled off on the river.

Dubreuil led for another 130,000 and Van Lieshout went into the tank. He mulled it over for the better part of three-minutes before the chips went into the middle.

Dubreuil tabled A5 for just ace-high and Van Lieshout tabled K9 for top pair and the win.
