After 17 players out of 107 entries qualified for Day 2 on Day 1a of the €1,500 World Series of Poker Circuit Main Event at Casino Malta, 35 more players reached the money at the end of Day 1b this Thursday. A field of 230 entries was registered today and brought the overall total to 337 entries so far and the prize pool to €431,000 before the final two flights.
These 35 qualified players are led by Christoffer Jensen, who built a massive stack of 1,300,000. "Easy for you," some of his tablemates joked while he was scoring more eliminations during the final levels. Jensen was followed at the end of the day by Jonas Lapinskas, who reached 992,000, while Alberto Cigliano (761,000) bagged the third-largest stack.
Fausto Tantillo final-tabled the High Roller earlier today before jumping into the Main Event and finishing with the fourth-largest stack (721,000), ahead of Martin Hofmann (608,000), who burst the bubble.

Ilay Uziel, who almost bubbled Day 1a, found redemption on Day 1b and bagged 341,000. Joris Ruijs follows closely behind with 320,000 after quickly climbing to the top of the counts earlier in the day.
Jakob Miegel (316,000), Edoardo Danesi (304,000), Claudio Muller (297,000), Marc Foggin (297,000), Maciej Gut (209,000), Jean-Paul Pasqualini (198,000) and Maxime Chilaud (189,000) are among the other players qualified for Day , while WSOP bracelet winner Alessandro Pichierri (135,000), Moritz Felsing (130,000), Grzegorz Kozieja (98,000) and Tiago Souza Aguiar (68,000) finished the day among the shortest stacks.
After the first two flights, the final two will take place this Friday, October 2, starting with Day 1c at 12:30 p.m. local time. This flight is expected to be the largest of the four and will follow the exact same structure as Days 1a and 1b, with a 50,000 starting stack, unlimited reentries and 40-minute levels. Day 1d will follow at 8 p.m., with levels shortened to 20 minutes.

No hand-for-hand play was needed to end Day 1b, so the 35 remaining players are now bagging their chips. They have all qualified for Saturday's Day 2 and secured a spot in the money.

After another elimination, the tournament director asked the dealers to stop dealing as Andrew Dickinson in the cutoff was at risk for 28,000 against Martin Hofmann with only 36 players remaining.

The dealer fanned flop of Q♠6♠10♣. In the same motion, Di Vito checked, Jensen moved all-in, and Di Vito called immediately.
