Chad Brown Eliminated

Chad Brown Eliminated
Chad Brown Eliminated
In the last hand of Level 10, action folded around to Chad Brown in the cutoff seat. Brown made a standard opening raise. Spencer Hudson, playing from the button, made a reraise large enough to put Brown all in, and he called. The players showed:

Brown: K-2
Hudson: K-Q

The board helped neither player and Hudson's queen kicker played. Chad Brown is yet another Day 1 casualty.

Is it Over Yet?

After a wave of fast-paced eliminations in Levels 7 and 8, it was announced that play would stop for the evening after 12 levels or when the field reached 27 players, whichever came first. It seemed all but certain that it would be the 27-player mark that would cease play, however the elimination rate has slowed considerably. At the end of Level 10, with 43 players remaining, it seems almost certain that there will be two more levels played this evening.

Keith Lehr Eliminated

Keith Lehr Eliminated
After calling a preflop raise from the big blind, Keith Lehr had all his chips in the center on a K-7-5 flop. Lehr figured he was in good shape holding K-J, but he quickly found out he was all but drawing dead when his opponent turned over two fives. Lehr failed to go runner-runner for the miracle and made a quiet exit.

A Modest Gigabet?

Ryan Young
Ryan Young
After a brief conversation about Ryan Young's online accomplishments and his WSOP bracelet, Darrell "Gigabet" Dicken had no problem going on the record as saying, "That kid is the best player at this table. You can put that in your live updates. Seat one is the best player at the table." Two-time bracelet winner Tom Schneider (seated at the same table) was unavailable for comment on Dicken's remarks.

Bart Tichelman Sends a Player Home

Bart Tichelman called a short-stacked player's all-in and showed {K-Hearts}{K-Clubs}. He was way out in front of his opponent's {J-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}. The flop came {7-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{2-Clubs} which was in Tichelman's favor. The turn and river bricked for the short stack and Tichelman collected his chips. Another player in the hand commented that he folded the other two jacks. "Captain" Tom Franklin then informed Tichelman and the others that if that was the case, then the short stack was drawing almost dead.
