Vanderbeek Eliminates Opponent; Takes Chip Lead

Kevin Vanderbeek has quietly moved to the top of the leaderboard over the last couple of hours and just added a few more chips to his field-leading stack, after eliminating an opponent from the tournament in the final minutes of level seven.

Vanderbeek's pocket queens held up over his opponent's pocket jacks in a preflop all-in confrontation; the board filled out {7-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{K-Spades}{Q-Hearts}.

The hand brought Vanderbeek over the 80,000 mark in chips and he is the unofficial chip leader heading into Day 2. We'll have the official counts posted for you momentarily.
