Usta Left Short After Battle with Tsouloftas

Level 2 : 100/300, 300 ante

Ibrahim Usta raised from under the gun to pick up one opponent in Georgios Tsouloftas. Usta bet twice to earn a call and then checked the river of a {j-Spades}{4-Spades}{3-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{a-Clubs} board. Tsouloftas bet 11,000 and Usta called only to sigh in frustration when his opponent turned over the {a-Hearts}{j-Clubs} for aces and jacks.

After paying off Tsouloftsas, Usta was left with just 11,000 in chips.

Peters Arrives and Takes a Hit

Level 2 : 100/300, 300 ante

Tobias Peters entered the field and was immediately involved in a big pot. He fired the {5-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{3-Spades}{k-Spades}{4-Spades} river for 13,500 from an early position. Stylianos Karadaglis called on the button and was shown aces by the Dutchman, which Karadaglis had beat with {8-Spades}{5-Spades} for a flush.

Peters then raised from under the gun once more and bet the three-way turn of {j-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{7-Spades}. The {6-Diamonds} river was checked and the big blind showed {a-Hearts}{3-} for the busted nut flush draw. Peters turned over {k-Spades}{k-Diamonds} for the overpair and the third player in the hand mucked.

Superior Full House for Studer

Level 2 : 100/300, 300 ante

In a rather small pot and four ways to the {a-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{2-Spades}{2-Clubs}{a-Diamonds} river, Clyde Tjauw Foe bet 1,000 out of the big blind. Daniel Studer from under the gun raised to 2,000 and earned two folds. Tjauw Foe eventually called and Studer tabled {a-Hearts}{6-Hearts} for aces full of deuces to win the pot.

Mitteregger No More

Level 2 : 100/300, 300 ante

On the tail end of a smaller pot, the cards of Gerd Mitteregger were mucked and the {a-Diamonds} was still visible. He had made trips aces on the {a-Clubs}{a-Hearts}{3-Spades}{7-Spades}{9-Hearts} but Dario Quattrucci had that beat with the {a-Spades}{9-Clubs} for a full house. Mitteregger joins the list of early casuaties as the screens show 210 players out of 215 entries remaining.

Shchepkin Chips Up

Level 2 : 100/300, 300 ante

Ciprian Paunescu opted to check the river of a {9-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{8-Diamonds} board with some 16,500 in the middle. Dmitrii Shchepkin then bet 7,000 and that sent Paunescu deep into the tank. He double-checked his stack more than once and eventually called.

Shchepkin rolled over the {q-Clubs}{j-Clubs} for the queen-high straight and Paunescu mucked with plenty of frustration showing.

All-In and Call
All-In and Call

The cards of Giorgi Mevlupishvili were already in the muck as he conceded an essential double up to Abdelmajid El Hani.

On a board of {q-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{4-Spades}{j-Spades}, El Hani had made queens full with the {q-Clubs}{q-Hearts} and dragged in the very large pot.

"What did you show? Aces?" another player at the table asked and Mevlupishvili replied that he had kings.

In the meanwhile, Valdir Cordeiro Dos Santos on his second bullet complained that he would have won the pot, which indicates he had pocket jacks. Either way, the Brazilian is down in chips and has some work ahead.
