Tom Koral Eliminated in 6th Place

David Gee raised to 40K and Tom Koral called in the big blind. The flop came {10-Spades}{2-Hearts}{8-Spades}, Koral checked, Gee bet, and Koral came in with the check-raise. Gee called and the two players saw the {9-Diamonds} hit on the turn. Koral bet the last of his chips and Gee called. Gee filled in a gutshot straight draw with that Nine on the turn and that left Koral drawing dead with pocket Sevens. Tom Koral finished in 6th place and won $54,356.

Thor Hansen At His Ease

Thor Hansen has two World Series of Poker bracelets and he seems to be enjoying himself as he tries to win his third. Most of the time he has a bemused smile on his face, he's gotten the other players to laugh a few times, and he seems perfectly relaxed.

Until...he's watching two other players involved in a hand. Then he leans forward and intently observes the action, picking up whatever information is out there to be learned.

A Quiet Gathering

The spectators lining the rail just a few feet from today's final table are a quiet lot, not a lot of noise or commotion to bother the players, just subdued chatter and occasional words of support for their friends fighting for the bracelet. Almost like the spectators at a golf tournament--quiet, reserved, polite.

David Gee Doubles Up

Tom Koral limped into a pot and David Gee checked in the big blind. The flop fell {7-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{9-Diamonds} and Gee check-raised Koral, who called. After the {Q-Diamonds} hit on the turn Gee bet the rest of his chips, Koral called, and Gee turned over {10-Diamonds}{9-Hearts} for two pair. But Koral had an open-ended straight draw with {Q-Clubs}{J-Spades}, a draw that failed to come in when the {5-Clubs} appeared on the river.

Tom Koral Wins A Pot From Geoff Sanford

In the small blind Tom Koral raised and Geoff Sanford called. The flop came {3-Spades}{8-Clubs}{9-Hearts} and Koral check-called Sanford's bet. Both players checked the {10-Diamonds} on the turn and the {A-Spades} on the river, and Sanford's pocket Sevens came in second place to Koral's straight with the QJ. Koral was looking for Sanford to take a stab at the pot but the trap was never triggered.
