Erick Lindgren is playing in today's event, as are Steve Billirakis, Jon "PearlJammer" Turner, "Miami John" Cernuto, Jeff Lisandro, Chau Giang, Bradley Berman, Fabrice Soulier, and Vanessa Selbst.
Andy Black
Seated at the same table, Andy Black and Ben Grundy were overheard giving one another a hard time about a prior matchup in PL Omaha. Andy explained to the table: "I had Q-Q-K-blank and he got me to put my money in with it. He had about the same hand, Q-10-K-blank or something. He happened to flop two pair against my pair of queens." Ben, defending the hand, claimed, "I got you to play badly." To whch Andy smirked at the accomplishment and said, "I play badly seven days a week."
Arnold Spee, Richard Brodie and Freddy Deeb are all seated at table 55. I'm sure the other players at the table are enjoying their company, but might have enjoyed playing against some less-experienced opponents.
Pot-Limit Omaha has long been the game of choice in Europe, and so it stands to reason that many top European players would be playing today. And they are: Marcel Luske, John Gale, David "Devilfish" Ulliott, Thomas Wahlroos, Noah Boeken, and Andrew Black are playing today.
Other notables playing today include Sam Farha, considered by many to be the best Pot-Limit Omaha player in the world. Erik Seidel is at his seat, as are Humberto Brenes, Huck Seed, Freddy Deeb, and Steve Zolotow
Robert "Mr. Omaha" Williamson III has just taken his seat in today's event. He's actually sitting at a table with four still-empty seats, and the other players were probably hoping they might chip up a bit before the table filled. And then Robert Williamson III shows up.
