Now That's a Call

With the board showing {8-Hearts}{3-Spades}{6-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{4-Spades}, Will Durkee faced a 15,000 bet on the river. He took nearly 5 minutes thinking it through before he made the call -- with {K-Clubs}{K-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}. It turned out that his opponent was trying to buy the pot with {Q-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{8-Spades} and Durkee's kings were good. That hand put him up over 110,000.

In the Money

We've had another bustout and that means the remaining 54 players are in the money. But Johnny Chan very nearly wasn't among those still left standing. After seeing a flop of {A-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{9-Clubs} with Ayaz Mahmood, Chan bet 3,000 and Mahmood called. He also called after Chan bet 9,600 when the {6-Diamonds} hit on the turn, and when Chan checked after the {8-Spades} peeled on the river, Mahmood bet 3,000 to set Chan all-in.

Chan called and both players ended up showing an A-9 for two pair. The two chopped the pot and seconds later it was announced that another player had busted and the survivors had all cashed.

One to Go

We've just had an elimination and so we'll be dealing hand-for-hand until one more player is knocked out and we're in the money.
