Bill Pitts Builds His Stack

After the player in the big blind moved in for his last 1,500, Bill Pitts and another player saw of flop of {6-Clubs}{A-Spades}{3-Spades}. The other player bet 1,800, Pitts raised to 4,500 and was called. The other player checked the {10-Hearts} on the turn but called Pitts' 6,000 bet. When the {Q-Diamonds} hit on the river the other player folded his cards out of turn and conceded the pot to Pitts, who showed the {A-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{7-Spades}. Pitts is now up to 39,700.

James Van Alstyne Wins a Big Pot From Arnold Spee

With the board showing {7-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{10-Hearts} James Van Alstyne bet 5,000. Arnold Spee thought it over and said, "Only two hands can beat me."

After Spee called, Van Alstyne said "I've got one," and turned over {10-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{K-Hearts}{8-Diamonds} for sevens full of tens, while Spee held {7-Spades}{5-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{A-Hearts} for sevens full of fives. The ten on the river gave Van Alstyne a pot which lifted his stack to 32,000, while Spee fell to 6,400.
