Davidson Matthew Busts

A player under the gun makes it 800, Davidson Matthew shoves for 1,635, the middle position calls, and the late position player re-raises 5,000 more to isolate. Under the gun and middle position both fold, and late position takes some back. Matthew has A-Q and the re-raiser has Q-Q with one heart. The heart-filled board is {K-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{A-Hearts}{9-Diamonds} and Matthew is out.

Dan Schmiech Tops 60K

Dan Schmiech raised to 3,500 from UTG. The action folded to the cutoff, who moved all-in for a total of 15,000. Schmiech called, showing Q-Q to his opponent's A-K. The flop was {K-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{6-Hearts}, but the {Q-Diamonds} spiked on the turn, giving Schmiech a set. The river was the {3-Spades} and Schmiech was up to 63,000.

Sammy Farha's Agent Gets Shown the Money

A player in early position raises to 2,000. The middle position calls. The cutoff says "I call and raise" and the other players call string bet. The floor is called over, and after a discussion it is ruled that his "call" declaration stands. The small blind folds and Sammy Farha's agent, Michael Hirschensohn, calls time on himself. He eventually calls and the flop is {J-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}. Everyone checks to the cutoff who bets 8,000. Hirschensohn raises to 16,000. Two players fold and the cutoff pushes all in for 4,000 more. Hirschensohn calls immediately and has Q-Q. The cutoff has K-K and the board finishes out {9-Clubs}{5-Clubs}. Hirschensohn has 47,500.

Young Phan Flops Straight

A player in middle position checks a flop of {K-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}{9-Diamonds} and Young Phan goes all in for 5,800. That player calls and shows {K-Clubs}{J-Clubs} for top two pair, but Phan already has {Q-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} for the flopped straight and redraw to the flush. The remaining board is {6-Clubs}{4-Hearts} and Phan's straight holds up.

Dan Heimiller Takes Big Hit

Heimiller limps in under the gun. A player in late position makes it 3,800 and the small blind re-raises all in. The flop is {6-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{6-Clubs} and both of the side pot players check. The turn is {3-Diamonds} and the side pot players again check. The river is {Q-Hearts} and Heimiller goes all in on the side. The other side pot player calls. Heimiller has {A-Hearts}{K-Hearts}, the side pot player has J-J, and the original all-in has {A-Clubs}{K-Spades}. The jacks take it all and Heimiller is down to 10,000.
