Daniel Alaei Advances

On a flop of K-7-5, Daniel Alaei bet out, Annie Duke moved all in and Alaei called. Alaei held J-J while Annie had 6-8 for the open-ended straight draw. The turn and the river didn't bring any of Duke's outs, and she was eliminated, while Alaei will advance to Round 3.

Playing Heads-Up Side-by-Side Causes Problems

Sammy Farha and Tony "G" can't help but put in their two cents when the two players next to them have a problem. The dealer calles for the floor, but Tony and Sam both tell them how to resolve the problem, "just chop it." The dealer decides it would be best to call the floor. Oh well, just trying to help.

Tony G. Takes a Hit, then Doubles

Sammy Farha raised to 700 and Tony G called. The flop was {J-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{6-Hearts}. Farha bet 2,000, Tony G raised to 7,000, Farha moved all in and Tony G called. Farha showed {Q-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}, while Tony G tabled the {J-Clubs}{9-Hearts}. The turn was the {3-Hearts}, making both players' flushes, Farha's the higher flush. The river was the {10-Spades} and Farha doubled through Tony G. Farha was ahead 29,000-11,000 after the hand.

Shortly thereafter, both players got all their chips in pre-flop, Farha with {A-Spades}{K-Hearts}, Tony G with {A-Hearts}{10-Hearts}. The flop was {Q-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{8-Clubs}, the turn was the {5-Hearts}, making Tony G the nut flush, and the river was the {J-Hearts}. The hand put the two almost even in chips, with Tony G at 21,000 and Farha at 19,000.
