Good golly, Miss Molly, Matthew Graham's hopped back onto the poker roller coaster for one last ride, first folding to Pappas on a flop to drop to 30,000 before dipping back down to 13,000 courtesy of fellow short-stacker Yueqi Zhu -- Zhu flopped the nuts with on a board against Graham's inferior .
Brandon Cantu raised from one off under the gun, and Yueqi "Rich" Zhu called in the big blind. Zhu check-called the flop and turn, and then both players checked the river.
Zhu turned over and Cantu turned over -- at which point he suddenly realized he was holding the nut low. "I can't believe I didn't bet that," he mused as he scooped the pot, by the by, leaving Zhu with just 12,000. Well, it is late...
Matthew Graham, who has been up and down like a kangaroo on a bungee, is now up to the dizzy nose-bleeding heights of 43,000 after pushing Yueqi Zhu off a hand of seven-card stud-8 with a pair of kings showing.
John Racener raised preflop, only for James Van Alstyne to reraise him. Racener called.
Racener checked the flop, and then called Van Alstyne's bet. Likewise, he check-called the turn.
Racener checked the river and once more Van Alstyne bet. Racener considered it and called with for nothing more than a feeble pair of threes -- but as soon as Racener called, Van Alstyne auto-mucked, as he'd been at it the whole time. Extraordinary.
Down to a pitiful 5,000 after ante-ing away for a round and bringing in his first hand back, Mark Gallo pushed on third street, James Van Alstyne called, and it was all over but the crying.
In the space of a few minutes, Matthew Graham has been crippled, chopped and doubled through in just three hands, even using two different games to do so.
Omaha-8:
With Graham raising it up preflop from the small blind, Brandon Cantu made the call in the big and both players saw a flop. Graham bet, Cantu called. Graham then check-raised the turn, called a reraise on the river and showed for the turned straight. Cantu, however, revealed for the rivered flush to leave Graham with 1,500.
Stud-8:
All in for his bowl of rice, Graham makes a low and chops the pot.
The next hand, Graham comes up against Cantu once more, this time getting the better of his recently emerged nemesis by making two pairs on fifth and sixth street to leap up to 16,000. Not sure that's the hand he wanted to win though...
Farzad Rouhani bet every street and made a flush on sixth to break back through the 300,000 mark -- James Van Alstyne called him all the way but clearly didn't make his low, as he mucked his down cards at the end.
He raised in late position and it folded around to Farzad Rouhani. Someone at the table piped up, "You got it," and Gallo, mistakenly believing that he'd been put all in, exposed his hand.
Anyway, the hand played, Gallo lost, and furthermore he's been whacked with a one-round penalty for exposing his hand. Seeing as the hand left him with just 16,000, and the ante is currently 600, he is in a lot of trouble.
Mark Gallo is now the shortest stack remaining with 32,000 after clashing with John Racener. Gallo bet the flop and turn of a board before check-calling the river. Upon being shown , Gallo glared at his cards, shook his head and mucked.
